Vile repuke attack ads.
Are repukes in your district/state running disgusting and false ads against dems? Here in Vermont, we're subjected to the repellant ads of Richie "Rich" Tarrant, who's running ads against Bernie accusing him of supporting every perversion under the sun: Bernie supports rapists sez Richie. Bernie supports pedophiles sez Richies. I mean here in Vermont Tarrant can't exactly accuse Bernie of being a liberal and expect it to be seen as a negative, so he's gone about as low as you can go. Anyone else in other states subject to shit like this? What is your local repuke saying?

"Sherrod Brown voted against Tax Cuts!!!!" over and over again.

Yeah, who's going to look out for those poor rich kids with their inheritances? :sarcasm:

2. Are those ads effective?
Seems like Sherrod is holding up pretty well against the Whiner. I'd love to see him in the Senate with Bernie. Can he win?

3. I think so
DeWine is desperate, that's all it is. He has as much of a chance as winning as DeLay has of retaining his seat.

4. I like one of the new ones Brown is running - something that I pointed

out (and sent off to Brown) along the same lines (but I don't have confirmation that I was anywhere near the inspiration):

Starts out with DeWine saying he "works with Democrats"/all kinds ...

then it comes to a halt, and you find out that DeWine voted for all things George W. Bush 92 percent of the time ... with that over a pic of W and DW (Dee-Dubya? hmmm ...) sharing a jocular moment, laughing their sorry rich asses off ...

Oh, one clue that I wasn't the inspiration ... I pointed out that DeWine felt, in 1999, that a President "lying" was an impeachable offense, and voted FOR conviction on both counts, as did "lefty" George Voinovich (brother of felonious "V-Group")

6. ridiculously disingenuous
Drove down to Mexico to buy thyroid pills a couple of weeks ago and listened to Rush Limbaugh on the way down so I would have somebody to talk to. ;) Argued with Rush all the way down there.

Then a campaign commercial supporting our House Representative, Steve Pearce (NM), one of Tom Delay's boys, came on the air. It was amazing. At least Rush puts some effort into misleading his listeners. This campaign commercial was ridiculously disingenuous.

Pearce will win, too. The 3rd district of New Mexico is comprised, more or less, of the lower third of the state. The western portion is pretty liberal but the eastern portion has oil and a greater population. Hence, the right leaning tilt.

7. Heather Wilson (R-Cow) started off nasty and negative in July
Edited on Wed Sep-27-06 12:18 PM by Warpy
At that time, pollsters and pundits were calling her return to office a sure thing.

After 6 weeks of solid garbage, the race was "too close to call."

Now she's running truly laughable ads about how moderate she is and how she's fought Stupid tooth and nail on every issue.

HA!

It is just amazing that in the generally liberal state of New Mexico that we have these kinds of Representatives.

13. She rode in on the coattails of a truly moderate pubbie,
Steve Schiff, who had retired due to health issues and died shortly thereafter. She has been kept in office in close elections because the local party has been running flawed candidates like one of the man involved in the Wen Ho Lee witch hunt.

She's got a real opponent this time. We have a real chance of throwing her bony butt out of Congress.

11. Santorum sets new lows every day.
The road doesn't go low enough for scumbag Ricky .

Lies and namecalling.

Santorum's latest attack ad was thoroughly exposed as lies by the Philly paper.
