Things are looking bad, it's time high time for the trump card.

2. Didn't you hear?
OBL is rumored (by the French) to have died of typhoid in August. So unless the bushbots recover the body and pump it full of bullets, looks like there won't be THAT October surprise.

3. OTOH the SAUDIS say he died a week or two ago
And the big question is, is the Saudi source for the French Foreign Legion Intel guy, and the Saudi Intel guy, the same guy??

Or is this all bullshit, smoke and mirrors, to give us something to chew on so we stop talking about laws passing to allow torture and providing immunity to senior American leaders?

7. There are a couple of separate stories running on the same track
They all emanate out of Saudi Arabia. One goes to France, and pronounces him well dead, the other to TIME MAGAZINE, where he is dead or dying still.

All the while, despite the source being Saudi, the Saudi officials are playing completely dumb. And then you've got Pakistan matching them by playing SGT SHULTZ ("I know naaaatheeeeng, I see naaaaaatheeeeeeng!) to round out the foolish playlet:

A leaked French intelligence document, dated September 21, reportedly stated: According to a usually reliable source, the Saudi services are now convinced that Osama bin Laden is dead.

The information gathered by the Saudis indicates that the head of al-Qaeda fell victim, while he was in Pakistan on August 23, 2006, to a very serious case of typhoid that led to a partial paralysis of his internal organs.

Time magazine yesterday quoted Saudi sources as saying that bin Laden had fallen ill and was likely dead.

But Saudi Arabian officials in Washington said that they had no evidence that he had died, adding: Information that has been reported otherwise is purely speculative and cannot be independently verified.

Aftab Ahmed Sherpao, the Pakistani Home Minister, similarly sought to dismiss the report as totally baseless. Pakistani officials have repeatedly denied claims that bin Laden is hiding in their country.

The US Government, as well as those of France and Britain, cast doubt on the report, which disclosed a document from French intelligence saying that the Saudi secret services were convinced that bin Laden had died of typhoid in Pakistan during late August.

Jacques Chirac, the French President, did appear to confirm that the report was based on a genuine document. He ordered a leak inquiry over how it came to be disclosed by LEst Republicain, a regional daily newspaper that has specialised in revealing stories of this kind....

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,13509-2373752,0...

Boy, those Saudis have been awfully adorable lately--pouring cold water on inconvenient rumors, and opening them there spigots to calm the frazzled nerves of the American driver in the run up to November....

6. You mean October Bin Ladin?
I say the "bogeyman" is unmasked on 10/30/06. Also known as "Devil's Night".

Disclaimer: Any connection the final version of October bin ladin with the actual real live person will be purely coincidental.

8. That sounds like it!
Close to election day, but with enough time to get a good buzz going.

Alternatively, if (and when) the election is stolen again, this timing will be a good way to explain the come-from-behing GOP sweep--

"voters were caught up in the euphoria!"
