Ron Christie on Hardball
a Republican tool, blatantly said that water-boarding (pouring cold water on people)
& keeping the lights on 24/7, saying that is NOT torture!!

I want to do that to that MOFO

I would love to keep the lights on 24/7 for 10 days and pour ICE cold water on that bastard and make him sing broadway show tunes!!

He will then think twice about what torture is!!!

1. That cross-eyed twit is in serious need of a bit of what he's selling.
It may be that the only way to convince some of these a-holes that what they are trying to pass off as just a little roughing-up really is torture, is to let them experience just a few minutes of it themselves.

I think I read somewhere that variations on waterboarding were used by the Spanish Inquisition and Nazi Germany. Nice company you're keeping, Ron.

2. He is mistaken about waterboarding...
Edited on Thu Sep-21-06 07:22 PM by Fridays Child
...or just being typically dishonest. The victim is strapped to a board and immobilized; his face is covered in plastic wrap causing him to believe that he will smother to death; then he is immersed, face-down in water for as long as possible. He is brought up and allowed to breathe, again, sometimes, after he has passed out. The effect must be beyond horrific.

9. I think he was trying to be dishonest...
"pouring a little cold water over somebody" were his exact words. Either he's astonishingly stupid and uninformed, or he thinks Chris Matthews' audience.

10. Water-boarding is not simply pouring water on people.
Water-boarding is strapping someone to a board and holding them under water almost to the point of drowning over and over again. Simply pouring cold water on someone would be a mere nuisance compared to that.
