Poll question: Assuming we win five GOP Senate seats...where do we get the sixth
to win control of the chamber?

Let's assume we hold all of our incumbent and open seats (NJ, MD, MN)and win these GOP Senate seats: Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Montana, and Missouri. We still need one more seat to gain control of the upper chamber. Which of these seats do you think is most doable?

1. Ford or Webb.
Also we have alot of work to do in New Jersey just to keep out seat. Maryland might be a problem too.

6. We will win MN.
A poll came out today that puts Steele (R) ahead by 1 in Maryland.

12. if we take 5 GOP seats it won't matter since the filibuster will become
a truly potent weapon again. With those 5 seats in our hands, there would be no way the repukes could change the Senate rules to abolish the filibuster as well.

21. The GOP would control the chamber still via Cheney.
Still, the Filibuster would become very powerful as the GOP's power will be diminished and they will need the Democrats cooperation to get things done.

13. I don't know if
Claire McCaskill in Missouri is a lock over incumbent Republican Jim Talent. A brief google search to find latest poll results indicates they are essentially tied at this point.

14. Pederson is really gaining ground on Kyl
I didn't realize how close this race was. I think Ford and Webb both have great shots at winning, and if Pederson could win too, that would be fantastic.

17. Harold Ford is our best shot.
I seriously doubt Webb will beat Macaca Allen. He made it close, and while a Webb victory is not out of the question, I'll be surprised (pleasantly) if he wins.

A friend of mine said yesterday, "Webb's not a Democrat; he's just a pissed-off Republican."

He will lose his seat. :)
