any email program has the ability to add a "signature line" to one's email.

11. Are you on Windows or a Mac?

Are you using the E-mail client that comes with the computer?

It will be in the preferences for the mail client you are using.

Just in case you are on the Mac, open your mail app, the go to File/Preferences. Open Signatures. You will see a window with three fields. In the first field you can see your e-mail account. Beneath that field you will see a plus and a minus. Click the plus. You will see the text "Signature #1" (or whatever) You can double click the text and it will highlight and a box will form around the word "Signature #1." You can type whatever you want in there, or you can just leave it as is. Now go to the third field. Paste the text you want as a signature. I remember at one time OSX needed the text to be plain text. That's easy to do in any text editor.

Now that the text is pasted in, down below is a pull down menu. It should have your Signature #1 on it. That menu is where you select the signature you want to use. Now below that is a checkbox. It says "Place signature above quoted text." If you want it, check it. That should be all you need to do. Close the preferences window. Click "New" to see if you signature shows in the e-mail text field.


The procedure shouldn't be much different on any Mail Client.

you play with it until you figure it out or screw things up so bad you have to call in an expert.

I also figured others who might be interested in learning would look at this thread, so I put the walk through with hope that it would help no matter what platform or what mail client.
