I never thought I'd miss Ari and Scotty, but I do.
I pine for the good ol' days when Ari Fleischer would briskly lie and bob and weave for the reporters as bush's official spokesman, he seemed intelligent enough, but he lied in a way that wasn't too offensive. And Scotty McClellan, gosh, I miss his pudgy little face and his constant obfuscation and rapid fire delivery of lies, and I really miss his many reasons why he couldn't answer questions.

But tony snow? I don't like him. I can't seem to make myself like him. He is a fox spokesman and he is arrogant and dismissive. He has a way about him that I find really distasteful, baronial, and he can't lose his anchorman demeanor and delivery.

Sigh, I miss Ari and Scotty, and I can't believe I'm saying it.

2. At least McClellan provided comic relief. Not intentionally, mind you.
As for Tony Snow, I stand by my assertion that he was not cured of his cancer, but rather, the cancer disassociated itself, not wanted to have its reputation soiled by being affiliated with Tony Snow.

Damn, I was sittin on the john today trying to think of the name of the guy that had snowjob's job before him. Thanks, Philosoraptor!

Yea, I miss the little tyke too. Snowjob is just too slick by half. You almost expect him to turn to one side and yell; "Make Up!".

10. LOL Reminds me of a line from an old Nation Lampoon record I have.
"Missing White House Tapes" put out at the height of Watergate. I had a couple lines that went like this:

Radio Announcer: "The White house released President Nixon's movements for the the week; Monday: good one, Tuesday: nothing, Wednesday: good one, some blood."

4. They brought him in because, as an entertainment professional . . .
He's smoother and more facile with the lies than either Fleischer or McClellan.

Unfortunately for them, the "my shit don't stink" approach -- which might have worked 2 years ago -- is just aggravating now. When Tony smarms from the platform, the press (and the people) just bristle.

Once again, a Bushian application of the wrong tactics to the wrong situation.

to the president's defenses. His explanations are always laced with those special jingoistic, towel-slapping attempts at humor that make him look like a buffoon, and give us all of these wonderful ignorant moments that we can attribute to the official White House response.

He's a classic. I hope they keep him till the end.

13. His flop sweat always gave him away.
Everyone knew he was lying and was uncomfortable doing it.

Tony Snow lies and is cool as a cucumber while he does it. It makes him seem almost lizard like.

14. I loved Ari. His gift at lying with a straight face was ungodly
Always non-plussed. Cool a cucumber. No subject on which he couldn't deliver the most outrageous lie with a straight face and a waft of questionable "facts" that would roll off his tongue. The penultimate salesman.

16. Agree with you on Ari. But, I must ask...
...if Ari is the penultimate salesman, who is the ultimate salesman?

Just curious,
