Ted Koppel last night.
Did anyone catch the forum on the Discovery channel last night with Ted Koppel. I flipped between it and the CBS piece.
What did you think? Fair and balanced? I thought the panel was weighted to the right a little much. I would like to have caught more of it.

2. A Little Weighted Toward The Right
But they embarrassed themselves. Ridge mumbled platitudes, McNulty (DoJ) gave I very dispirited defense of Bush policies (I could have done better), Gorelick kept pleading that all of us, Democrat & Republican, needed to have a serious discussion about Privacy vs. Security (yeah, like the Democrats have been avoiding a debate.)
Not one of Koppel's better efforts.

4. A little weighted to the right
is was more like a seasaw in full flight. I enjoyed the comments from Romero, the lady from the Clinton administration and the relatives of victims.

3. Ted "America Held Hostage" Koppel had a forum slanted
to the right?

Say it ain't so!

6. I saw part of the town meeting - I thought it was good
I missed the documentary but the town hall meeting was good - he let both sides air their views and points. I did want to throw the remote at the TV several times, but there were at least 2 family members of people killed on 9/11 and both questioned the loss of our civil liberties for "security."

5. Not horrible but yes a bit titled to the right
I watched the first 90mins but only about the first 15 mins of the "live discussion" portion.

On the one hand it seemed there were many more representatives of the "left" viewpoint but the people who represented the "right" or establishment viewpoint seemed in an elevated privileged position on the stage.

Anthony Romero made a point (or tried) that I agree with. The premise should not have been "security vs freedom" (I actually think McNulty (sp?) made this point although he comes to the wrong conclusion I think) it should be "Ok, we need to take action. How do we do that within the context of who we are and what we stand for. And if we need then discuss what we stand for to be sure how we can proceed long term."

7. I believe Ted K. wished to look impartial but get a dialog going
concerning the best topics, like Security. I liked it when he let the individual (lawyer) from the ACLU get up and make his comments heard especially on the topic of torture.
