Bloomberg to join president for 9/11 events
Mayor Michael Bloomberg, a frequent critic of the Bush administration, will join the president Sunday for two public events commemorating the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

The mayor will accompany President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush for a wreath-laying ceremony at ground zero Sunday afternoon. Afterward, they will attend a service of prayer and remembrance at nearby St. Paul's Chapel.

Though Bloomberg has often stridently criticized the president's policies, including his fellow Republican's positions on abortion, gun control and scientific research, the two have met several times.

But the mayor, recently re-elected to lead what is a heavily Democratic city, usually avoided the photographers during such meetings in his first term.

Even if he were a Dem, I would expect him to join the Prez for THAT!
