Nude Vermont Teens Appreciation Thread
Nothing says, "God Bless America!" like naked teens. I don't know if the rest of you have caught the controversy in the Green Mountain State. My local paper ran a story about it titled Let winter chill teen nudists, practical Vermonters decide.

Have yall heard about this? Anyway, feel free to express your support for nude Vermont teens in this thread. Peace and low stress!

1. Do you know how invigorating it is
to be nude in freezing temps? I don't think winter will stop this.

26. Well, there's winter, then
there's New England wintah. Wind chills of minus 40 are not unusual. That's not invigorating; that's flash frozen.

3. I Presume There Is A Story Behind This - Where's The Link?
So we can all bask in the knowledge of nude teens, something quite thrilling to some, less so to those of us who haven't been teenagers for half a centry or more.

4. Didn't you know?
Appreciating nude teens these days can draw accusations of being a pedophile (or worse than accusations).

5. I go to a famous park here in Mannheim Germany almost every week
Well, famous in these parts...tourist area, picnic area, nice gardens, wonderful tea house, zoo, shopping, history...all in one area...and nudity is no biggie. Couples rest upon the grass in the buff, children run about in the buff...and no one cares.

A pastor's wife who is soon to head back to America to live voiced a concern about her children being accustomed to nudity and how "warped" America is about nudity. She worried her children would strip down one day, go out to play, and shock the neighbors. Her children, born here and raised here, don't see nudity as bad....but now they must go back to America where minds aren't as free of self-imposed clutter.

A naked child (woman or man) is no more a temptation to a rapist than a dressed child(woman or man). It's not what the victim is wearing - or not wearing - that is the problem...it's the sick fuck who rapes that is the problem....

I just don't want to see most people naked--most people need to cover their stuff up!

9. You'd be surprised at what you don't notice once you get used to it
At first, I was like "Wow!" and "Oman, cover up! - you really need to hide some of that!"

but then you realize their comfortableness with their body is a thing of beauty to behold...and you smile.

Then you stop noticing.

What the heck are you staring at anyway? Do you feel you must check out every clothed "ugly" person you pass on the street, too?

18. It isn't about YOU.
Naturists (or nudists) aren't doffing their duds because they want you to see them naked. They do it because they don't want to have to wear clothes. If they were doing it just to make you look at them, that is a totally different "-ist." Exhibitionist.

I know...I'm a card-carrying member of the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR, mentioned in the articles). Just don't ask me where I carry my card.

27. Why not in public?
Does the article say they're all "ugly?" For that matter, what do YOU look like. I've seen plenty of people that are ugly as mud even when wearing a brand new suit. Should we ask them not to offend us with their ugliness, too? Heck, these people in VT are young folks, anyway...your fear of rampant wrinkles and unchecked ugliness are probably unfounded. Go to an actual landed nudist resort. But don't be surprised if you find your grandparents there! Nudist resorts are popular among old folks because of the wicked cheap living.

10. Serious question:
I completely agree that nudity is not an invitation to rape. Nothing is.

But my question is this: How do you separate nudity in this sense from nudity in the sexual sense? I'm totally serious.

If I'm attracted to my wife (which I am), then seeing her nude is stimulating. I just can't see myself not being stimulated by my wife when she's sunbathing nude at the beach and then being stimulated that night in our bedroom.

How in the hell does that work? Am I just weird?

15. Well, at first, many people are aroused by nude adults lounging about

but then you stop seeing the nudity...you stop thinking in terms of naked as a sexual thing...you stop equating being naked with having sex...as if that's the only reason to be naked.

Doesn't mean you stop appreciating a nude body...you just don't automatically tent up just because you do appreciate a nude body. You begin to appreciate nudity for something other than sexual...the body stops being solely an object of desire. It becomes just a part of the total person.

Doesn't mean I don't notice a well formed butt...I just see it differently...not just something to grab in the heat of passion...but a work of art.

19. When I lived in Sweden
it was commonplace to see topless women even in the city parks and nudity was not uncommon either, though people were a little more discrete. Also, you'd fairly often see nude men in downtown Stockholm, being "humiliated" as part of a humorous ritual that takes place before getting married. Even television news, when appropriate showed nude people (getting a breast exam, at a nudist colony, etc.). For the Swedes at least, sex is very private (certainly less talked about than here), but nudity is okay. I have a friend in Finland who is truly obsessed with women. I asked him how he deals with that in the Finnish saunas, which are very often co-ed. He said that when you're in a room that's 150 degrees (or something like that), you don't pay any attention to the nudes. I think in the U.S. nudity = sex, and it's quite the same in other parts of the world (and apparently in Vermont). The more repressed a society, the that nudity equals sex. In Stockholm, for instance, it was common to see middle aged Pakistani men gawking at the topless women.

24. There is nothing different than being at a clothed beach. Except clothes.
Edited on Thu Sep-07-06 07:56 AM by Atman
Your concern is very common. But nudists check out the other people on the beach just like anyone else does. We notice the hot looking couple down the beach, the creepy looking guy lurking near the dune, all of it. Nudity becomes as common as wearing a bathing suit which, face it, doesn't cover up that much anyway. You get the same feelings after a long day lounging on the beach. Are you supposing nudists are somehow different than people in tiny spaghetti-thin bikinis? That that tiny patch of cloth is the only thing stopping us from leaping up and doing the nasty right there on the beach? Nah. You wait until you get home to act on your hormones, just like everybody else does. The rules are EXACTLY the same as for non-nudists. Don't invade others' space, don't stare, don't make a big deal about it. After you've been naked for years, you think nothing of it.

Oh, the only different rule -- always sit on a towel. It also comes in handy for newbie men, just in case the hormones get the better of them. Which, fwiw, has never happened to me in public, thank goodness.

29. Nude beaches are rather wholesome
There is one I've been to a few times in Jersey. At first you're like, 'Teehee, I can see that guy NEKKID' but then you settle down and realize that it's all families and couples and friends out for a day at the beach. The people I found creepy were the clothed guys hanging out right outside the clothing-optional area, taking peeks but too chicken to come in and take off their own clothes. :eyes: Their loss--they'll never know how awesome it is to swim in the ocean au natural!

That makes complete sense. Yes, I was thinking that somehow nudists were immune to such thoughts--or that I am perhaps a sex-crazed idiot.

31. The same way bikinis are (or can be) just swimwear these days...
...and not a "scandalous overexposure of flesh" or whatnot.

Two things are needed:
1) habituation (you get used to seeing it in non-sexual situations) and
2) acceptance (you get your mind around the concept that it's not "dirty" or "shameful")

and 2and a half) random woodies happen, deal with it.

30. God bless you, nude Vermont teens!
:patriot:

Seriously, I read some of the articles about this and I have to wonder if the people who are upset have ever dealt with teenagers before? Duh, the harder you push them the more nudie they're going to be! Not to malign teenagers, especially since I haven't been not-a-teenager for that long, but they kind of have short attention spans and most of them will cut it out once it's not getting any attention.

I can say from experience, tho', that defiant public nudity is a lot of fun!
