I've heard that a filibuster can involve holding the floor by reading something long and boring, such as the phone book.
This got me to thinking... There's now tons of vital information archived on some of the bigger liberal blogs which needs to be heard in Congress and in the media.
So
instead of filibustering by "reading the phonebook", how about reading some of the "Greatest" posts from the bigger liberal websites such as DU, Kos, etc?
Both DU and Kos have excellent "ranking" systems -- so any post with a 4 or 5 rating on Kos, or with over 30 or 40 votes on DU has already been focus-grouped and would definitely resonate with the country. Kos
recently pointed out that if DailyKos were a newspaper, it would have the fifth-largest readership in the country. We ARE the mainstream -- and it's about time Congress and the media woke up to that fact.
I bet in the DU and Kos archives there are hundreds of excellent posts that would be great to read out loud on the floor into the Congressional record. So we'd get a two'fer: block that creep Alito, and get lots of important information out there!
What do you think?
