2. Then every Dem shouuld use it....
This could very EASILY be used to put a spotlight on Bush's inconsistencies in HIS War on Terror.

DEMOCRATS IN CONGRESS MUST REPEATEDLY SAY:

"President Bush is NOT being truthful to the American people. ON March 13,2002 he said and I quote "I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and REALLY DON'T CARE. It's NOT that important. It's NOT a priority." He repeated that by saying, "I am truly NOT concerned about him."

(Say)...America, President Bush is NOT being truthful to you. He says ..."I really don't care (about Bin Laden)", but when he is accused of abuse of power...... suddenly he cares about Bin Laden!

...President Bush is NOT being truthful to you.......President Bush is NOT being truthful to you..... President Bush is NOT being truthful to you....President Bush is not being truthful...NOT truthful NOT truthful.....repeat....repeat....repeat....NOT truthful....NOT truthful...NOT truthful...drip..drip...drip...

(Pound away at this....do not get sidetracked into talking about something else. ....(and use the above quotes).....

...and, of course be ready for the inevitable next question...Are you calling President Bush a liar? (Don't answer, but say...) YOU can call it whatever YOU want....but, President Bush is NOT being truthful. This is not about rhetoric, it is about honesty. (Then talk about the value of HONESTY to the American people.) This isn't difficult.

3. and yet they didn't.
even when Bush lied through his teeth at the debate, denying he ever said that - it got a brief mention on the talking head shows that night and was never mentioned again.

It could've been an incredible ad, and would've made Bush look like the weak fool that he is.

Yet the Kerry campaign gave them a pass.

Even the Moveon crowd didn't want anything to do with it, the folks I approached just sniffed contemptuously and treated me like a silly child for even suggesting an ad using Dubya's contradictory OBL statements.

5. Nothing is accomplished by grumbling about the past....
Let's learn from what happened....correct it....and then give it right back to them.

The secret is choosing a consistent response and making sure EVERY DEMOCRAT KNOWS IT AND REPEATS IT!

6. but wouldn't talking about 2002 comments be grumbling about the past?
Edited on Sat Jan-21-06 03:39 PM by thebigidea
that's the same shit the Bushies use when any of their mistakes are brought up: that's old news, we need to move forward... lets not play the blame game.

Dem strategists need to acknowledge the mistake made not going after the republicans on OBL, forget Bush since he's not running again, and smear ALL the Republicans with the "weak on terror" thing. Where's OBL? Can we trust Republicans to keep us safe?
