Abramoff's attorney: Some in Congress "are going to be taken down"
This makes for a VERY Happy New Year...

http://news.webindia123.com/news/showdetails.asp?id=205208&cat=World

Abramoff is scheduled to go on trial Jan. 9 in Florida on charges he bilked former clients. Prosecutors are trying to convince him -- as they have some of his associates -- to enter a plea deal and help with further investigations. Considering Abramoff dealt with many members of Congress -- mostly Republicans but also some Democrats -- there are many uneasy people inside the Beltway.

Several lawmakers and staff members have been linked to trips arranged by Abramoff, who bragged of his access to highly placed officials. As a result many politicians have tried to distance themselves from Abramoff and some have returned thousands of dollars in campaign donations from the lobbyist or his various groups.

Former U.S. Sen. Alan Simpson, R-Wyo., told The Washington Post of a conversation he had with one of Abramoff's attorney who said, There are going to be guys in your former line of work who are going to be taken down.

11. Me too!
I can't wait! I thought Abramoff didn't give to any democrats? If he did they should be gone too. I remember they tried to pin down Reid but he said he didn't take money so hopefully he turns out to be right.

4. Especially those Congressvolk aided by K-Street Project.
...where ALL lobbyists working the Hill were to be GOP conmen. Of course, with Abramoff's largess, much was done to grease the wheels of the self-righteous money changers working the wards for a brighter future for the Reich like Ralph Reed.

5. Translation:
"We're going to smear and take as many Democrats as we can down with us..."

PLEASE will someone pop Delay's judicial cherry and HIT him with an Indictment based on Abramoff's singing like a Canary BEFORE the beginning of Congress? (That's if Congress resumes this year..)

Oh, and while you are at it, INDICT ROVE! QUICK!

6. Please let it be Hastert, Ney, Burns, Rohrabacher, Blunt, Frist,
Sensenbrenner, DeLay, Dreier, etc. Haul their asses off to jail. That would be a great way to begin a new year!

13. We thought BCCI would take down the Reps, but all they did was
go after an senile old Democrat, letting bush and his buddies skate. They had their show trial to show everyone how evil the Democrats were, then dropped the whole thing.
