In Defense Of A Christian Company

I am not a Christian. I do not believe. Enough said.

If you own a good sized powerboat it may very well have an accessory called 'trim tabs'. These are extendable plates that stabilize and level the boat when its under way. Most of the trim tab systems in use by pleasure boats are made by one company. That company makes a number of other products, including very popular steering systems. This is not a 'large business' but its certainly not peanuts either. The company is privately owned. Their products are of very high quality.

If you were to buy one of the company's products the box would include a small slip of paper with a prayer on it. The owner's manuals for their products praise the lord.

So what? Well, its their return policy and their service. Their products typically have a one year guarantee but there's no reason to keep a copy or to even read it. The company fixes anything they ever made no matter whats wrong with it or how old it is. If its too much trouble to fix yours they simply send you a new one. I have seen cases where this company has repaired units made by other companies. They have sent out replacement parts and supplies for errant do it yourselfers who have screwed up the job. They have at least 3 persons who frequent boating web sites looking for people who are having problems with their systems so they can offer advice and free parts. They give out their home phone numbers to people who post that they will be working on their boats over the weekend and might need help.

I have never seen anything like it. It is the only corporate application of Christian principle that I've ever seen and I have to say, as a non-believer, that it is a great good and impressive thing.

in integrity and high ethics. matthews 6. go into closet to pray. dont preach out in the street. i do have issue with it as a christian. profit thru christ. appalls and disgusts me. all the things you mention can be done without the wearing of the banner, i am a christian. it is in the walk that you shall be recognized, not in the talk.

4. Christian principles are one thing the GOP could care less about

They prefer the god that makes ass-kissers rich and kicks the ass of people who believe slightly different than the authorized version. Kant basically came up with the non-religious way to live by christian principles. Go to a fundie church sometime and watch them screeching about how Jeezus wants you to be RICH, brothers and sisters.

And I bet they don't have little fishies or crosses or doves or Scripture references on their cards or in their advertising. I bet they don't go from church to church scoping out folks to hustle. And I bet they aren't listed in any directory of Christian businesses.

Christian is as Christian does. And if it has to broadcst its claim to be Christian then it probably isn't and all around would be well advised to protect their wallet.

9. You're Absolutely Right

And those folks they have wondering the websites looking for folks with problems, they don't spout any of that stuff either.

Maybe I should have mentioned, particularly about the spare parts they send out regularly, this stuff is not cheap - not by any stretch of the imagination. Several hundred dollar pumps, hydraulic lines and pistons, complex switches and wiring harnesses, all sorts of things like that.

Of course their products aren't cheap either. You pay up front but no matter how much you pay you'd simply never expect how far this company actually goes out of its way to make sure you never get screwed in the deal.

Oh, and of course, their products do exactly what they are advertised to do. If anything their literature understates the good properties of their products.

11. Are they hiring?

That commitment probably bodes well as an indicator of how they treat their employees. I could find it worthwhile to work for a company (Christian or otherwise) that was actually committed to both their customers and their product.

Isn't that every worker bees dream these days?

because they know you'll need it if you want their product to work for five minutes beyond the warranty (or when you lose the warranty card).

Most of us have had terrible problems with conspicuous Christians.

I'm glad you've found a great company whose leadership got the point.

I wish there were more of them out there. I'd be less offended by proselytizing in the literature if there were.

10. scamming people predates christianity

those folks who are "good" at scamming or cheating people look for people's weak spots or even soft spots.

Elderly people are easily scammed because they are frail, short of funds due to fixed income status, and in many cases lonely...

Young people are easily scammed because they are too green to know that "nothing in this world is free", and because they "want to get rich quick".

Trusting people, those who belong to groups that are known to be trusting...are also easily preyed upon....who would think that a fellow (Insert Group...i.e. Christian) would walk away with your money and screw you...
