Illinois schools could lose $130 million in Medicaid plan
August 29th-U.S. Senator Dick Durbin says President Bush's plans for Medicaid will cut as much as $130 million in Illinois schools.

Durbun and leaders of several Illinois districts said at a news conference today that Medicaid helps pay for special education programs required by fedaral law.

He says is Bush's 2007 federal budget is adopted,districts--especially large ones --could lose out on millions of dollars

2. "hates the poor" along with
hates education.....public education, i.e. Watch and see if his no child left behind policies don't lead to more home schooling, charter schools, and private education which would go along with privatization of social security, ad infinitum.

Not a single GOP Congressperson up for re-election this year can say with a straight face that they care about providing affordable health care.

5. Special ed is underfunded already
This medicaid money filled in a few holes, but not all of them. This is a BIG loss.
