Do you believe in imposing tarrifs?

Should the USA impose tarrifs on goods produced in countries with no real labor laws or environmental protection laws? Why should we allow other countries that exploit the earth and their own people including children to export their cheap goods tarrif free (GATT, NAFTA,) and in the process destroy American opportunities. It is almost impossible to compete with these countries when we have both our hands tied behind our backs. That was a poor example. I don't wish to untie our hands, as we need labor laws and environmental laws, but we need those to apply world wide, not only to be fair but to preserve the earth and bolster all countries financial standing. One of the main problems throughout the world is poverty and exploitation. That is what most of the fighting is about, not religion. Tarrifs are absolutely necessary IMO to restore order throughout the world. Not using US forces to intimidate people into behaving in a certain manner. These other countries need to be forced through financial means to institute these important laws...If there are minimum wage laws in other countires more people would get out of living in poverty.
