to be honest I'd say that the item is similar to training that infantry receive routinely. The abuses of Abu Ghraib do seem to have been motivated from high level non-military sources.

The Geneva convention dictates how Prisoners of War are handled and Bushie stressed to all Iraqis that they had damned well apply them to captured US personnel at the start of the invasion of Iraq.

...I know know "Halt!" in Vietnamese. Never know when you're going to need it... I think I'm more likely to use it while the server is adding too much beef tendon to my pho than, say, in combat...
