so she looked like she was a forty year old floozy. She was the child of a woman who needed to make her kid into some "beauty queen" so she could live vicariously through her. She was murdered a little less than 9 years ago. An 18-21 year old soldier probably wouldn't have been following the news back then and very well might wonder who she was.

But aside from that thought, I don't think the cartoonist is making a literal suggestion that dead soldiers would be having this thought (were they alive to think it of course). It's clearly a visual way of representing the disproportionate media coverage. I don't see it as a comparison between relative value of lives. It is nothing more than an indictment against the media...and maybe the Bush administration's illegal war perhaps.

It is too bad the Media exploit her death and use it to avoid mentioning other Bushite disasters. It is also too bad that they try and convict people on the air. People they do that to cannot get a fair trial.

We need to put lots of money and focus on why there are serial killers of women and children. There is a small percent of children murdered by sexual perverts each year. It seems like a lot are because the Media shows it so much, but most die at the hands of their parents. Fox says that 400 children a year die.

Jon Benet seems to be enjoying her "dressing up". Different strokes for different folks. They had the money and if she and Patsy enjoyed it, why not? We played dress up when my sisters and I were little. I would have loved to have done what Jon Benet did when I was small.

Last month 3500 Iraqis died in the US-created quagmire. It was the highest month of civilian casualties ever in Iraq. A couple weeks ago more than 1000 Lebanese (50-75% children) died in the US-backed invasion of Lebanon. And our pretzledent has no plan to stop it while he is in office.

The difference is that we can do nothing about Jonbenet but we are responsible for all the deaths in the Middle East. Our media is all about glamour and entertainment rather than enlightenment.

And yes, she was an abused child. A 5 or 6 year-old should not be made up to look like this FOR MONEY:

the unfortunate death of a child to get off the REAL stories of the day. Im not saying she or any other child that has been killed isnt worth a notable mention on news but not 24/7. But then we must look at MSM as a whole, have they bothered to be "fair and balanced" trustworthy and open with the public in the last five years? I was a little kid during the Nam era but I remember the nightly news showing the good, bad and the ugly about that war, now all you hear is * throwing a hissy fit when confronted with talks about getting out.

There are a lot of films of her playing with no make up. There was some of her opening Christmas presents. The media chooses to show the made up ones. They love to feed the mob mentality and the sex patrol.
