Cn. Newspaper calls Lamont, "Red Ned."
Has not America had enough politics of polarization. Name calling and Sloganeering wins elections? I'd be proud of Lamonts family history. A Lamont family member was editor of the "Nation." Free speech is not free in America. It has its social costs.
Link below. GOd, Lamont endorses universal health care. How extreme. Wonder if this Conn. newspaper screws its employees of medical benefits. I'd bet they are lousy to work for?

4. I guess I'm showing my "youthful" age.
When I saw "Red Ned," I thought that maybe he had some Republicans in his closet. It never occurred to me that it had anything to do with the old Soviet Union (and my hubby's even a Russian expert, so it's not like the old Ruskie doesn't get spoken in this house, daily. LOL!)

3. The newspaper from Phil Giordano's hometown
Remember Phil - the guy that was arrested for having sex with a prostitute's underage daughter? And, I don't mean underage as in, 15 and looks 18. The girl was like 11.

Or, the hometown of John Rowland, our former governor who served time in prison for corruption?

6. An 11 year old and an 8 year old. And he
preferred the 8 year old. Sick bastard.

Yes, Waterbury has turned out some stellar politicians. :eyes:

On the other hand the Rottie I adopted was originally from Waterbury and she is a sweetie. I think she was glad to get out of there! When her original owners brought her over to us I asked them what the Hell was going on in Waterbury. They both simultaneously shrugged their shoulders and shook their heads.

15. She was probably happy to escape the cesspool
that is Waterbury. That's why your dog is so good.

5. Good article calling the swiftboaters out
This statement got me:
clip..
His wife, Florence, belonged to such subversive groups as the National Council of American-Soviet Friendship and American Committee for Friendship with the Soviet Union.
--
Russian friendship, God forbid.
At the end of the article, there is a minor stab at Swan, but I don't think Swan did so bad calling them Evil and Slime. They were!

7. Should Lamont's aide have apologized.
THis newspaper does not reflect this city I hope; along with it's other sources of 'evil and slime.'

10. I don't know
From what I read, it seemed like he was calling a spade a spade and not a shovel.
I guess it might look good to some if he cleaned it up.
It is good politics to get the dirt out and then apologize for it. It gets played twice.

17. He was criticizing the whole town
Now, in Conn., most people would just nod their heads and agree. Waterbury is considered the worst kind of regressive backwater. Which it is.

19. I was just going by the update on the article
I guess the town was included in that that is where slime meets evil which are the politicians.
Sorry good townspeople of Waterbury!

20. I really don't know anything about the city.
Just seems with the slimy paper and some rotten pols, the city might be suspect.

that the Soviet Union no longer exists? And hasn't for quite a while.

18. Why bother with reality?
I mean, as Stephen Colbert says, "reality has a well-known liberal bias."

14. Considering the average intelligence of Republican voters,
calling him "Red" Ned implies he leans toward the right and should get the sheeple vote. I saw a bumper sticker the other day that said "Vote Red" with an elephant on it.

16. Calling that a newspaper
is a bit much. I kind of doubt the 60,000 circulation claim of that rag, I wouldn't let my bird shit on something like that and I avoid the cesspool of Waterbury like the plague.
