Did Imus just threaten to ban all Democrats from his show if they don’t support Lieberman?
By: John Amato on Monday, August 14th, 2006 at 4:31 PM - PDT

Imus wasn’t too happy with the Democrats that supported Joe Lieberman before he lost the primary. Most of them are now getting behind Lamont because– he won and is the Democratic nominee now.

Imus: I had decided to do I think Charles, Is to ban everybody, every Democrat–which unfortunately too many of our guests are anyway. To ban ‘em. Ahhh, the program–for turning their back on Lieberman.

Charles: Yea, understood–it’s a shame.

Bernard: We’ll have to take phone calls from listeners–You ban Democratic politicians—that, that bailed on Lieberman–like Harold Ford and uh,,, who hasn’t bailed on him is the question.–

Imus: The stuff we have on him, (Dodd) he better come to his senses quickly.

This is probably Imus’s tongue-in-cheek humor to support his good buddy Lieberman, but then they started talking about secrets they might have against Chris Dodd if he doesn’t get on board. It’s his show so he can invite anyone he wants to come on, but it’s pretty lame stuff indeed.

3. Dodd is a Democrat, Lamont is a Democrat, Lieberman is an Independent
Edited on Mon Aug-14-06 07:45 PM by LaPera
All Democrats should support only other Democrats. Joe Lieberman is no longer a Democrat!

A week ago both Lieberman & Lamont were Democrats...no more, Lieberman chose to reject the democratic party instead of supporting the new Democratic candidate...

Clinton, Dodd, Boxer, Shumer, Kennedy, Feingold, etc...are ALL democrats, and their duty is to support the democratic candidate. The Democratic candidate is Ned Lamont...NOT Independent candidate Joe Lieberman!

7. Imus is, I think, the epitome, of what is wrong with broadcasting
Rush is an asshole but at least he's entertaining in a sick sort of way. Imus is just an old, self absorbed, perpetual crank, with an oversized ego. I can't imagine why people find this guy interesting or entertaining.

6. Imus doesn't bother enough to keep himself informed enough
so that he can discuss anything with any kind of relevance. He's tired, his staff is tired. They go on vacation and who even notices. They took him off my am drive time station and I ended up finding a local talk show host who was 10 times more informed and 20 times as entertaining. Imus's fans are dwindling because he's lost his edge. Sorry, that's just the way it is.

And I am NOT tying it to age. Diane Rehm kicks more butt more often than many interviewers on radio and television. You KNOW she's read up and looked at numerous sides and she doesn't let anyone get away with anything.

10. Just goes to show you don't have to be smart to have your own show
Imus is seriously uninformed if he believes that his opinion will change the minds of Democrats regarding Lamont. Lieberman needs to support Lamont, not run against him outside the Democratic Party.

Until Liberman comes to his senses and drops out, he deserves the ridicule he is not receiving, and Imus can enjoy the same with him.

12. Imus is a star-fucker simpleton
He openly gloms on to the rich and famous so he can drop their names and get their cell phone numbers to make himself feel important, because he knows he's just a grumbly, stupid, lame douchebag.

Lieberman sucks up to Imus, so Imus does this stupid shit.

He's a worthless blob of carbon.

14. I accidently caught his interview with Howard Fineman this AM.
Fineman didn't do bad, but Imus was his usual idiot self. I NEVER watch his show, and I was sooo tired of seeing the same BS on CNN, and cspan had some idiot on too, so I started flipping chanels, and accidently found Imus and Fineman.

Honestly, I don't think it much matters who he lets on or keeps off his show. I'm surprised HE still has a show!!!!!

16. Yeah, but who listens to him anyways?
Seems his only affiliates (except for WFAN) are at the very bottom of the ratings.

Howard Stern said it best: Imus was better when he was doing cocaine.
