US Gov't insisted breaking terror suspect story over Britain's objections
http://www.legitgov.org/index.html#breaking_news

In contrast to previous reports, the official suggested an attack was not imminent, saying the suspects had not yet purchased any airline tickets. In fact, some did not even have passports. Source: U.S., U.K. at odds over timing of arrests --British wanted to continue surveillance on terror suspects, official says 12 Aug 2006 NBC News has learned that U.S. and British authorities had a significant disagreement over when to move in on the suspects in the alleged plot to bring down trans-Atlantic airliners bound for the United States. A senior British official knowledgeable about the case said British police were planning to continue to run surveillance for at least another week to try to obtain more evidence, while American officials pressured them to arrest the suspects sooner. (emphasis added)

Of course, Chucklenuts wanted to trash this investigation - they needed the misdirection away from the war, poll numbers and the Leiberman loss. They ruin an ongoing surveillance for political gain. It sure explains how Snow, Dead Eye Dick and the rest of the bunch was so ready to use the "Lamont is the Al Queda candidate" and "Democrats are going to get you killed" so quick after the breaking of the story.

They are going to end up getting us all killed in the next two and half years. I'm not scared of terrorists but I am scared sh*tless of this evil bunch.

2. Nothing except the US demanding the investigation be outed.
This wouldn't even make a half way decent spy thriller.

3. Very interesting!
On another thread about this terror event, a DUer said that the U.S. elections were of no interest in Britain, so the "timing" of the news had nothing to do with Lieberman's loss. There simply wasn't any relation.

My reply then was that Tony Blair jumps to Washington's commands.

Turns out I was right.
