I'm sorry, I'm not buying it for one second. We've seen this countless times over the past several years. Everytime the GOP needs a boost, they trot out some "terror plot." Shopping malls, truck bombs, apartment bombs, blowing up the Lincoln Tunnel, they've come up with all sorts of scenarios to scare the bejeezus out of people.

Am I the only one who finds it highly coincidental this "plot" is revealed within a week of LIE-berman losing his primary, scaring the shit out of the GOP? With less than three months before the midterm elections, the GOP needs some sort of terror hysteria to scare the sheeple into supporting them. I wouldn't be surprised to hear about another "major plot" sometime in October. Not only that, but by trotting out these "plots" at routine intervals, they can use these to defend their continued assault on our civil liberties. I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually say that part of the info came from wiretapped phone conversations.

I find it odd that most of these stories share some of the same characteristics. They always involve some Arabic Muslim men - gotta keep those boogeymen alive, right? By making the latest bunch British naturals, it helps to justify Britain's assault on its Muslim population. I'm sure we'll start seeing reports of American 'sleeper cells' pretty soon. These "terrorists" almost always have travelled to Pakistan for bomb-making lessons - because we all know how difficult it is to learn this stuff at home. And there will -always- be a connection to Al Qaeda. Hell, it didn't take very long for this latest "plot" to be linked to Al Qaeda.

Of course, the M$M is just eating this shit up. They live for this stuff, giving them a chance to bring out the talking heads, and emphasize how we're all still in mortal danger. Hell, at this rate, by the time the midterms come around, most Americans will be begging Der Fuhrer to protect them.

Lamont isnt scaring anyone... And the reason they arn't afraid is because Lieberman will probably win the general election. The Connecticut primary included only 1 out of 5 voters in that state. And all of those voters were registered Democrats that make up only 33% of the electorate in that state. Add in the independants and the Republicans, Lieberman actually has a good chance of winning. Because I think that because the Republican candidate is so far behind in the polls, most Republicans in that state are going to vote for Joe and give him money.

If Lamont was able to get 70% or more of the Democrat primary vote, he would probably win. But with only 52% of Democrats supporting him, he is going to have a problem with independants who usually do not vote for far-left candidates.

I could be reading the wind wrong. I'm just looking at the math. And the math doesn't work in Lamont's favor.

If that is the allegation, it is certainly a convenient, ready-made explanation for any lack of physical evidence. When I think of the last two big "terror plots" that were uncovered, the homeless guys in Miami blowing up the Sears Tower and the guy in the chatroom in Lebanon that was blowing up the Holland Tunnel, both of those made a big splash but then fell flat when it became obvious that there was no evidence of a capacity to carry out either one. Now IF (and I am just saying IF) someone wanted to present a terror scenario that didn't garner the same ultimate response as those two alleged plots, suggesting that the bombers had the capacity to carry out the plot and were only waiting to buy and make their bombs at the airport would be one way of creating a "credible threat" without ever having to actually produce a guy who actually had a bomb.

Yeah - people buy it. Because there are some seriously fucked up people out there who have already attacked us before (wtc, uss cole, wtc again, etc and so on). People have seen we have been attacked. People have seen it thwarted (1999/2000 plot under clinton). They have seen Okie City attacked (and did clinton use that to get any legislation passed? I wonder....)

Evidence to most people is real - we have been attacked, told by same people we would be attacked again. Tapes from Osama, Rhetoric from Iran, and so on.

We are told we are creating terrorists by our actions, and even told by some on the left we had 9/11 coming because of our policies.

Tell me again why I should not believe it? Is it because hard working people (like my cousin) who work for the feds are out there trying to protect us day in and out are really looking for news to help bush (who is not running again I might add)? Maybe we should not believe it because a bunch of folks on a message board think it is a distraction from an election in a small state most americans really don't care about. Maybe because some folks think that anything at all in the news is related to bush 24/7 - they stop a plot, was a setup, they don't catch it in time, was a plot, etc and so on.

Maybe we all need a break from the internet and need to spend more time out in the real world with people talking - to those with views not our own. Maybe then we will find out why we are not winning.
