Rolling Stones To Play Bill Clinton's Birthday Bash
8/10 Yahoo Music

The Rolling Stones will play a special fundraising show in New York to mark the 60th birthday of Bill Clinton, it has been announced.

Mick Jagger and company, who are currently on the European leg of their Bigger Bang world tour, are scheduled to appear at the Beacon Theater on October 29.

The concert will apparently now act as the party for Clinton, whose actual birthday is on August 19, and a fundraising event for his charitable foundation.

According to reports in the press, the evening will also be filmed by legendary movie director Martin Scorses, who helmed last year's acclaimed Bob Dylan documentary No Direction Home.

2. I wonder if Bush will get jealous?
I don't think he had any big-name bands offering to play for his B-day last month. All he did was stuff himself with cake (though that was probably fine by him, since he's not known for appreciating the arts).

Betya this will piss off lots of right wing nutballs.

Women think I'm tasty, but they're always tryin' to waste me
And make me burn the candle right down,
But baby, baby, I don't need no jewels in my crown.
'Cause all you women is low down gamblers,
Cheatin' like I don't know how,
But baby, baby, there's fever in the funk house now.
This low down bitchin' got my poor feet a itchin',
You know you know the duece is still wild.
Baby, I can't stay, you got to roll me
And call me the tumblin' dice.
Always in a hurry, I never stop to worry,
Don't you see the time flashin' by.
Honey, got no money,
I'm all sixes and sevens and nines.
Say now, baby, I'm the rank outsider,
You can be my partner in crime.
But baby, I can't stay,
You got to roll me and call me the tumblin',
Roll me and call me the tumblin' dice.
Oh, my, my, my, I'm the lone crap shooter,
Playin' the field ev'ry night.
Baby, can't stay,
You got to roll me and call me the tumblin' (dice),
Roll me and call me the tumblin' (Got to roll me.) dice.
Got to roll me. Got to roll me.

The Rolling Stones are so lucky. I always wanted my band (when I had one) to get to play for Clinton. I wanted to play the song "Sha La La (Howling at the Moon)" by the Ramones for him as a thank you.

Here are the lyrics (I really wish he could see this)
Sha-la-la-la
Sha-la-la-la-la-la

Ships are docking
Planes are landing
A never ending supply

No more narco
No more gangster
Conservatives can cry

I took the law and threw it away
Cause there's nothing wrong
It's just for play
Theres no law, no law anymore
I want to steal from the rich and
Give to the poor

Sha-la-la-la
Sha-la-la-la-la-la

It was glowing, glowing, glowing
Glowing in the dark
It was sparkling, sparkling, sparkling
Sparking in the night
I took the law & threw it away
Cause there's nothing wrong
It's just for play

Theres no law, no law anymore
I want to steal from the rich and
Give to the poor

Winter turns to summer
Sadness turns to fun
Keep the faith, baby
You broke the rules and won

Sha-la-la-la
Sha-la-la-la-la-la

Keep it glowing, glowing,glowing
I'm not hurting anyone
Keep it glowing, smoking, glowing
I'm howling at the moon
I took the law & threw it away
Cause there's nothing wrong
It's just for play
Theres no law, no law anymore
I want to steal from the rich and
Give to the poor

Oh baby
Oh baby
Oh baby
Oh baby

I took the law and threw it away
Cause there's nothing wrong
It's just for play

I'm smoking, baby
I'm smoking, oh baby

Theres no law, no law anymore
I want to steal from the rich and
Give to the poor

Sha-la-la-la
Sha-la-la-la-la-la

Now, if I played for Bush, I'd have to play "Bonzo Goes to Bitburg" so I could really emphasive the words "nazi" and "I wish that time would go by fast, but somehow they manage to make it last." I would do it if the opportunity knocked, but my bandmates didn't have the cajones to do anything like that, unfortunately.
