Can you blame us for being skeptical?
How many times have we had bogus "Terror" alerts? How many times have there been a "group of Arabs" with a secret ridiculous plot to blow up anything American? How many times have those plots turned out to be merely ignorant chatter and/or wishful thinking? How many times were these "terrorist" incidents used as a political football by deceitful Republicans looking to divert attention away from some scandal or crime du jour? The problem with "Liberals" failing to comprehend the reality of "Terrorism" is because to Repukes, Terrorism is not a crime, it's a political ace in the hole for them and the MSM who sell that fear for their Neocon masters.

Was this a real threat? Maybe, who can be even 50% sure these days. Who was behind it? Will we ever really know? These liars who call themselves our Leaders have manipulated the truth so much that we can't believe one single word that comes out of their mouths. When I hear one of these Repukes say the sun is shining, I dash into the house to grab my umbrella. They have lied, and lied and lied and lied and now... Now, they say their not lying and that we should believe them. They mock us because we don't sit down at the table and meekly eat what they've set before us. Doesn't anyone else see just how fucked up this is?

These people have sold out any sense of integrity they've ever had; they have used nightmare after nightmare to further their own political goals and when we don't believe them anymore, they call us "Terrorist Sympathizers" or worse. After many years of watching these assholes, I have adopted the strategy of "Disbelieve everything they say until there is overwhelming proof that what they say is true". If they say its raining, I go out and check and then look behind me, just to make sure it's not one of these liars pissing down my back. If you want me to believe what the American Government has to say about anything, my suggestion, put in people who have integrity, who tell the truth. Otherwise, I'm going to keep on disbelieving everything our Government says until proved otherwise. Our Government has cried Wolf too many times for me to blindly accept anything they have to say any longer.

4. How does my post paint me as paranoid?
Does the definition of paranoia now include slack-jawed acceptance of the tales of known Liars? If it does then color me paranoid.

9. I fail to see how your reply wasn't directed at me...
Though I'll take your word that it wasn't...

Also I've read your post and I really don't agree with it. Should we constantly be forced reset our Skeptometers everytime they trot out another "Terrorist" plot? These assholes constantly lie about anything and everything. If we were dating these assholes, we'd be checking their phone records and looking for reciepts in their cars right about now but for some reason, people expect us to "just believe". Belief requires faith and I have no more Faith in our Media nor our Government.

To simply accept this "terrorist plot" as truth without a giant dose of skepticism is not very wise. Who really knows what they've found, what "plot" was uncovered, how long they've been investigating, how many people were involved, who stood to gain, who was the intended loser, how many MSM disinformation agents there are selling the story,....? Who knows? Who can trust what they say any longer?

This is the true danger to America. When you have known Liars telling you that "Terrorists" are trying to kill us all, once again, how am I supposed to believe them now? How am I supposed to believe that this intelligence isn't being fixed around the policy? How can we be sure this isn't some bullshit elaborate ruse to gin up a war on Iran or Syria? How can we be sure these "Terrorists" aren't just patsies so Bush and Blair can erode even more American and British Civil liberties? Since we can't be sure (because they constantly lie) they allow a large portion of this country to be less wary, to be less vigilant, to be less prepared and if this were a real threat, all those who don't believe these Liars are at risk.

I don't care if Republicans make fun of me because I don't believe them anymore. I don't care if "Normal" people still believe our MSM and Government. I don't care if people think I'm crazy because I just don't believe Liars. This may have very well been an actual plot but before I believe it, I'm going to need a lot more than 20 odd arrests, a few empty bottles of gatorade and some hydrogen peroxide. All I've got to gauge the truth is stories told by known liars.

6. I don't really understand people
who would believe this stuff - right off the bat. Esp. people who have been around here and should know better.

Remember Gladio?

Italian, US 'State Institutions' behind Bologna Bombing

Indeed, it would not do for the families of the 85 people ripped apart by the Aug. 2, 1980 bombing of the Bologna train station to know that their loved ones had been murdered by "men inside Italian state institutions and ... men linked to the structures of United States intelligence," as the Italian Senate concluded after its investigation in 2000.

The Bologna atrocity is an example of what Gladio's masters called "the strategy of tension" fomenting fear to keep populations in thrall to "strong leaders" who will protect the nation from the ever-present terrorist threat. And, as Rajiva notes, this strategy wasn't limited to Western Europe....

13. I agree
The problem is the Kool-aid. People have become addicted to it. The adrenaline rush of fear keeps people from focusing on other things like their bills, gas costs, low wages etc... When your life is in danger these things become meaningless. So every couple of months the government pulls out a new patsy and beat the proles over the head a few times with their terror stick. We have seen it before and we will see it again but some people just don't want to see the truth.

Shrug it dribbles from his own mouth - back when he had a few brain cells still firing.

from the start. The added flourish of doing a red alert at the airports for absolutely no logical reason today was par for the course.

14. You should be skeptical.
The president is a liar. The VP lacks the moral capacity to tell the truth. The majority of elected representatives mix lies and truth as part of their job. The federal courts distort the truth as part of the legal process. And the media sells lies daily.

We have an obligation to investigate every single thing that these jackals attempt to convince us is "true." And to decide for ourselves, and to act accordingly. Thus, one should be skeptical, but that should mean that we do not base our beliefs solely on anything the enemy says. We do not to depend on anything they say as being true, nor everything they say as being a lie.

15. No...
I can't blame you for being sceptical. Sceptism is a good thing. I applod it. But the sceptism must apply to the conspiracy theories as well.

At this point I am basicaly agnostic about this incident. I think it may be a while before things settle down.

17. No but I can blame you if you are certain
that you are right and there is nothing to it. Why should I trust you either? I don't like that kind of knee jerkism either. (the general you that takes this position) All I can say is, yes from what limited amount I know- this looks real. The British are involved so that gives it some credibility right of the bat for moi. All I can say is with what I know NOW, that yes this makes sense. I think it's funny that because those of us that think this may very well be a real terror threat aren't accusing you of not being skeptical. It's your side that knows for A FACT that Rove is behind EVERYTHING. And that all terrorist threats are a joke made up for political gain by the Bush admin. MANY are. This is the first one that sounded true to me. Time will tell. Being skeptical means being skeptical of all sides. (And this from someone-me-who actually seriously thinks they have a Bin Laden look alike that they bring out when they need him-I will never believe that last October Friday before the election in 2004 was Bin Laden-it looked fake and that was my first reaction) My first reaction to this is yes, it's a miracle we haven't been hit since 9/11. So thank God for the Brits because I know our government does squat for us.

And I haven't read anything from the skeptics to convince me. How could I when it's based on a pre-concieved notion? That isn't skepticism.

Also there has to be some truth in propaganda-some truth in it or it wouldn't work. There are real terrorists in the world that would think it damn cool if they blew you up on your vacation. You either believe that or you believe the Bush adminstration made that up. The terrorists don't exist. I think they are exist and existed before Bush and will exist after him.

If this was THE plot, it does remain to be proven.

18. The DSM was a Brittish Document...
wherein we find that the "Brits" knew the Iraq War was based on trumped evidence and yet, they still went ahead with the invasion and occupation of Iraq. The "Brits" don't have a whole lot more credibility than anyone on our side of the pond.

I have not offered an alternative theory nor have I said that this was not a real threat. My point is that those who accept the MSM version (and thus the Presidents version) of events can not expect to get an accurate picture of the truth. There have been a great many posts poo-pooing those who doubt the verasity of the Administrations claims even though most of the people doing the pooing know that Bush, his Cronies in Brittian and the MSM are habitual liars and will use anything they can to create fear in the people. Before others start mocking people who are tired of being lied to, maybe they can give them just a little slack and allow them the opportunity to examine an alleged plot that benefits those who wish to use Terrorism to rule America and England.
