Most born-again Christians are actually Democrats. There was a Washington Post article on this several years ago. These would be like Jimmy Carter, Jane Fonda, or Al Gore...people who have had the actual "born again" experience.
Most of the "Christian" terrorists that we've had in our country, on the other hand, have been right-wing Protestants, but not evangelicals. Mostly right-wing Presbyterians, if I recall correctly.
