| Hasan Nasrallah is Working Ehud Olmert |
|
This is a total mismatch. Nasrallah - whether you consider him a terrorist or not - is twice the man that Olmert is on the latter's best day, and he doesn't seem to have too many of them. It seems evident that Israel has no idea what it's doing in Lebanon. First it was an air war; it didn't work. Then a limited ground assault in which they were beaten back at Bint Jbail. Then they said that they had successfully degraded Hizbullah's missiles, after which Hizbullah promptly fired off more than 400 in 2 days. Then the northern command was changed and the cabinet authorized a major ground assault in which the Israelis got their asses handed to them yet again with 15 dead and 38 wounded yesterday, and not one significant city, or village even, under their control. All the while Nasrallah has been cool and steady, offering to cease hostility, pull up north and allow the Lebanese army to man the borders if Israel stops. Now, the Israelis - a mere 24 hours after their bold proclamation of a large scale ground offensive - have halted the activity and have increased the time necessary for their operations to two months, up from 30 days, up form a couple of weeks, up from a few days. The Israelis are killing Lebanese civilians and Hizbullah is kicking IDF ass. The U.S. - now seeing that Israel cannot win - is "warning against further escalation." When will Olmert realize that he has failed and take his beaten ass back home? Ariel Sharon in a coma could have executed this offensive more effectively.
