By Promising to Run as Independent, Lieberman PROVES he's not a Democrat
Edited on Wed Aug-09-06 01:50 PM by berni_mccoy
It's very simple. A True Democrat, even a 3-term incumbent who lost, would recognize they were not speaking for the people anymore and would not challenge the voters' will. It is that simple. Lieberman lost. If he were a true Democrat, he would acknowledge that and give Lamont his blessing. By running as an independent, Lieberman has proven everything the people of the Democratic party have suspected: that he is serving the best interest of himself and the Republican party. This is what the voters of Connecticut need to realize when they go to the polls in November and see Lieberman's name on the ticket. If they do, Lieberman will lose in a terrible way and his political career will be over (unless he switches parties and runs as a republican in some other state).

1. Yup.
If anyone had any doubts at all that he was really working for himself first, and corporatists second... and the people maybe later if it didn't conflit with the first two obligations... well, take note.

2. Joe Lieberman is the defacto repuke nominee.

That's why the RW noise machine is paying so much attention to him at the expense of their ostensible nominee. Democratic Party leaders need to wash their hands of him and STOP begging him not to run because that only perpetuates the right wing spin that the party is split.

4. Disrespecting CT taxpayer primary outlays proves he's less a Democrat
than a PNAC/Neocon.

He may promote himself an "Independent" -- like Bush advertised himself a "Republican" -- but he'll likely serve the agenda of the one who "kissed" him: Neocon.

Like Tony Bliar, he'll probably end up with the Carlyle Group, promoting peace through war.
