Gas going up!!!
Local b.s. news says gas will be up to 3.50 in fl by next week.. add a bad hurricane and the price is def. 4 to 4.5.. don't know what it will do to the prices in california which is always higher than the rest of the nation... Pray for the hurricane's to hit the east coast this year and not the gulf. not that I wish anyone else hell on earth after a hurricane.

1. Through the roof, baby!!!
Come on gas prices, rise! Let's see $5 a gallon! Then we'll get some action on the hydrogen economy.

5. Much as I hate to see them go up, it's the only thing that has a chance...
...of dislodging the Republican majority. So, I'm with you, "Through the roof, baby!"

6. $10
is probably more realistic. Give it a year and may it well reach that level for you. At current exchange levels we're <UK> on over $8 as I write - so we're sort of used to it.

When 1 gal. gas= 1hr of work, the USA would stop.

15. yes...yes it would
but imagine the HUGE public pressure on politicians to fund hydrogen R&D. it would be the end of the petrocarbon economy. come on pipelines, keep corroding!!

18. I'm not so sure hydrogen is the ultimate way to go... it would keep
America still very dependant on others... be very wary of Bush endorsing anything someone he knows won't benefit from.

Then pick the "alternative" fuel of your choice.
Who cares, as long as it's not oil.

38. And we're supposed to keep our houses warm and
get to work how while they're researching and developing; which is nowhere near being ready to put out on the market, I might remind you...

On the other hand, if you don't mind people chopping down more trees to try to stay warm in their homes and the accompanying smoke and pollution...

3. How Dare You Pray For It To Hit The East Coast. What's Wrong With You?
How bout praying no where gets hit with one. The east coast isn't close to being prepared for a major hurricane. What were you thinking?

10. Well, when i lived in SC, hurricane survival was so much better.
Living in Florida is like a 3rd world country compared to S.C. awareness.. I don't want anyone to be hit, but lets face reality.. they happen. They happen every year. It depends on the factors.. this year they are looking better to hit the east coast, rather than the gulf.

8. Pray for hurricanes to die at sea.
You might want to edit that. There are a lot of DUers on the east coast who have seen their share of hurricanes. I went through Wilma last year in South FL and wouldn't wish it on anyone.

We were down there for 12 years and saw plenty that didn't do a lot of damage, but Wilma was worse than any of them. And Jeb really is inept! :banghead:

We called it Pink Floyd because it was pink on the tracking map. We had "boat people" (they lived on sailboats) staying with us, along with all their cats.

November in the Midterm elections who are being hurt by Bush's poor approval ratings caused in a great part to the high energy costs.

21. If it gets to $3.50 per gallon, I'm in trouble.
I promised to buy my wife a new Jaguar if it got that high. The theory at the time was that the Jag would be enjoyable to drive on empty roads.

I don't have the money. I can only hope she forgot. But I doubt it. I'll have to make a deal. Any suggestions?
