What if Scotty swore on a bible to tell "The truth, the whole truth..."

8. Yes of course he'd still lie, swearing on bibles
or taking oaths mean nothing to repukes. Its about covering ones behind that matters most, besides, he can always pay Robertson or Falwell to smooth things over with god.

23. It looks to me like he's wired
he gets all glassy eyed and spouts off, staring straight ahead. If they interuppt him he always goes right back to where he was, like when you read a book and you reread a word or two to remember where you stopped. anyone else ever think about this? When he answers jokes or comments of the reporters, his eyes twinkle with a help in glee. anyone else ever notice that?

12. They found a loophole to swearing on the Bible.
If you say "the troof" and cross your fingers, it doesn't count as a swear. God is working on tightening up the rules.

19. Press people have no standing.
Only applies to legally constituted bodies. Lieing to the press is considered high art.

24. aren't they above all laws.
u.s. law, god's law, probably fucking law of gravity at this point.

they reinterpret or ignore the constitution all the time, they'd just do the same to a bible. they don't believe in what's inside a bible anyway, they just use it to con the masses.

27. Swearing on a bible is no guarantee of getting the truth.
Maybe hooking him up to a lie detector when he does press conferences might get better results, but then lie detectors can be beat too.

I think just the old fashioned way of back checking his statements for veracity is the best. I mean we know when he is lying.

What we really need is a rule that states that any person who is speaking in his official status and who deliberately and knowingly tells a lie be removed from his office or fired after a hearing by a populist committee to determine his guilt. If we did this we could clean up Washington.

He would spend all His time hovering over Washington DC. With maybe a few side trips to Virginia to smack Pat & Jerry upside the head.
