51. His article on that subject & a thread here about recent data thefts
http://www.gregpalast.com/massacre-of-the-buffalo-soldiers

Take the info from above article and consider the recent disappearance (& later reappearance) of a laptop with millions of vets and current active duty personnel data on it. Oh, and think back to when that laptop went AWOL, within days of Cheney's boast the GOP would win in 06

Connect the dots

The fix is in and it seems likely vets and active duty military will lose their votes.

Support the troops: make sure THEIR VOTES ARE COUNTED!

Get some LTTE and calls to talk show on this one. America needs to protect the troops.

said. I never could understand TIA's statistical info because reading lots of numbers doesn't click in my math challenged brain...but I got where he was coming from. It was good to see Robeson put it all into a context out there at the Harlem Book Club. I wonder if he has scanned the blogs that he had so much information that has been worked on here and reported on elsewhere on the internet. :shrug: I hope someone contacts him.

I want to know when this whole program re-airs, too, so Helderheid, if you find out, would you PLEASE let us know? I've bookmarked this thread and will check back until it's exhausted.

THANKS! Wish this had made it to Greatest Page sooner ... we should keep this in mind next time an important broadcast comes on....

Dear Ms. Ferrari,

In the first few weeks after the election several readers wrote us about this issue. Mr. Okrent responded to these concerns on his web journal. I include the entry below (see post #35).

http://forums.nytimes.com/top/opinion/readersopinions/f...

dokrent - 5:40 PM ET November 21, 2004 (#35 of 40)

The Times and Covering Allegations of Election Fraud

Sorry to have been neglecting this spot for so long; I could give you a list of excuses, but none of them
is especially good.

Now, though, my mailbox has begun to overflow with criticisms of The Times for not looking more deeply
into allegations of large-scale vote fraud in Ohio and Florida, a story (if true) that no one can ignore. In some
of these messages, writers say that "now that the theft of the election has been proven ...," The Times must
reveal this to the wider world.

Were the assertion even nearly so, I would do more than recommend that The Times reveal it I’d be
demanding it publicly, loudly and frequently. But the evidence I have seen to date proves nothing, other than
that there was a certain amount of error in certain counties, and an aggressive effort by some partisans in
some areas to challenge some likely Democratic voters. To my knowledge, no one in the Kerry campaign’s
vast on-the-ground operation, or in its armies of well-situated lawyers, has made the argument that what
happened in Ohio (or Florida) could have changed the result of the election. Similar views were explained
in "Vote Fraud Theories, Spread By Blogs, Are Quickly Buried," by Tom Zeller (Nov. 12).

And more, I expect, will be explored and explained in future articles if meaningful allegations can indeed
be established as facts. Both Matthew Purdy, the head of The Times’s investigative unit, and Rick Berke, the
paper’s Washington editor, assure me that reporters will continue to look into the issue. I’m confident that if
they find something, they’ll publish it. A good investigative reporter (much less a whole staff of them) turning
away from a story like this one if true would be like a flower turning away from the sun. Careers are made
by stories that detail massive election fraud.

But: the operative words here are if true. Wishing doesn’t make it so. Although it would probably pain him to
have someone from The Times touting his work, David Corn of The Nation, in a recent column, offers plenty
of reason to examine the allegations before I, or anyone else, should leap to give them credence. You can
find Corn’s column here.

Since then, over seven hundred other readers have raised similar concerns requesting more coverage on this issue. You may be interested in the following articles:

http://www.nytimes.com/2004/12/22/politics/22poll.html

http://www.nytimes.com/2004/12/15/politics/15ohio.html

I raised reader concerns with Mr. Okrent and a few days ago he asked me to let you know that he does not believe The Times's coverage of the voting in Ohio is over.

The following articles have since appeared:

http://www.nytimes.com/2004/12/29/politics/29ohio.html

http://www.nytimes.com/2004/12/24/national/24vote.html

Mr. Okrent wanted me to write you back asking that you please stay tuned.

Sincerely,
Arthur Bovino

I missed it too, and I think I've got the accurate info on the re-airing of the program. However, since what we wanted to see was part of the larger Harlem Book Fair programming, I'm not certain just WHEN in the line-up of their offerings our show will be seen. Someone else here might give us a tip on that.

124. Hey, Helderheid -- a heads-up on the re-airing schedule!
I've been trying to confirm when the Greg Palast segment will be re-aired. I reeeelly want to catch it since I missed all but a couple of the phone-in questions at the end of the hour.

My Yahoo TV listings are what I count on regularly to find out not only "what's on now" but also the future airtimes for programs I want to see again, record, or recommend to others. I kept watching CSPAN2 today as the Harlem Book Fair continued to air with other presentations, and thanks bigtime for getting me over to the station even if late for the specified program, because they've had GREAT stuff all afternoon!

We should be able to catch a re-airing of the election fraud program where Steve Freeman and Greg Palast appeared tomorrow evening, Sunday, July 23rd, beginning at 10:00 p.m. Eastern. I found this time confirmed at the CSPAN Website, btw, so I think we can rely on it as accurate.

~~~~~~
P.S. Just something on another topic I thought I'd mention here. Folks who take mood altering drugs or anyone concerned about others who are taking them, and specifically I refer here to prescription anti-depressants, should check out a book called Artificial Happiness by an anesthesiologist named Richard Dworkin. I think his message is truly an important one in modern America because the overuse of these meds is arguably changing our country! Consider this: One reason so many people in the United States have been astonishingly complacent about the wrongs and outrageous acts of the present mal-administration just might be the prevalence of reckless mass doping of our population with mood altering drugs that produce what Dworkin calls "artificial happiness" and therefore rob such persons of their desire to ACT to express their outrage at what's going on.
--Please note that I'm not, repeat absolutely NOT criticizing anyone who needs anti-depressant meds -- in fact, I've had need of one at times in my own life and am glad it was there for me. This is just such a significant issue, one I've been concerned about for some time; and I'm so glad to hear a "specialist" speaking out on it. Figured I'd mention it here with a brief synopsis and perhaps trigger someone else with a more reliable computer than mine to start a thread on the topic soon. I can start such a thread myself, but it'll have to be AFTER this summer's heat waves that are disabling my PC for about 22 hours a day!
"Legitimize their stupifaction" -- how's THAT for an ear-catching quote of just one of Dworkin's phrases?!
Just think: IF the neocon election-stealing, PNAC, war-profiteering contingent now in power in America have conspired with Big Pharm to keep voters blissed out with drugs no matter what their elected (and UNelected) officials do, wouldn't this be just the perfect plan for them?
