2. Check out this delusional post from FR
The phrase "President George W Bush"

There was the inverse situation when LBJ first started to win support of Blacks for the Democratic party. Blacks could say LBJ.. and even President Lyndon Baines Johnson.. but they had a hard time saying Democrat any where near his name. Somewhere between George Wallace and Orval Faubus it just stuck in their throats.

The key is Jesse being pictured walking with Condi.

And what would you expect Democrats like Hillary, Obama, and Kennedy to do when they see their most loyal base slipping away?

The Rank and File of the NAACP is not ready for it yet. There is still some play for the galleries. But the power structure of the NAACP sees the handwriting on the wall.

Rush pointed out the slight as the partisan Democrats in the NAACP hoped he would. But that is not the story. That was the attempt to obscure the story.

9. Sorry, couldn't (and can't) help it.
Compulsive correct speller...and I read the book way back then...pretty good for a 12-year-old white kid like me.

16. CBS played up how "warmly" he was received by showing an
audience shot of maybe three women standing up and doing the Arsenio arm thingie. :wtf:

But in the same report they showed both the past and present heads of the NAACP who remained seated, on their hands, for the duration of his monkey speak.

17. Remember the Cheney shot with 12 people in the audience?
and there was a Laur event where a photog dared to show workers busily collecting empty chairs:)

19. a silly question...
...but whatever happened to the photo of Junior "playfully" slapping Rep. Al Green (D-TX)? I noticed neither the Daily Show, nor the Colbert Report, touched it; and haven't heard anyone say they saw it anywhere else (say, Olberman). WTF is that all about? Are Junior's animal house antics news only when it involves white women, but smacking a black member of congress up-side the head (on the floor of the NAACP convention, no less) isn't?
