Here's another question: How's come all the snowflake babies are white?
I mean, I did some searching and here's the pictures I've found

http://www.wthr.com/Global/story.asp?S=5132760&nav=9Tai

I mean seriously can someone find me a picture of a non-white child who was a snowflake baby? I'm starting to think this is just the new avenue for fussy white folks who feel it's beneath them to adopt one of the thousands of children who need adopting in this country but remaining parentless because they're either not the right skintone or have special needs.

2. Let's hear it for Angelina Jolie. She went ahead and adopted
two children of other races, Cambodian and Ethiopian, then had sex with a white guy and had another white kid.
I just wish she's make up with her estranged father, for all of their sakes.

3. How's come Angelina Joile didn't adopt from right here in American
I mean, I betcha we have kids in orphanages right here in the US of some exotic heritage that still need homes because of their skin color.

Don't get me wrong, I admire what she is trying to do overall with her volunteer work and striving to get help for the problems in Africa. But was her children of color somehow more acceptable because she came from Africaor Cambodia instead of perhaps NYC or LA?

6. Good point, Lynne. Never thought of it that way. Another thought --
"Snowflake" babies HAVE to be white, don't they? Just because of the name?

Nobody called them "brownie" or "mustard" or "licorice" or "charcoal" flake babies.

11. I can't fault her.
She has adopted two more children that I've ever adopted. I don't care where they came from. She felt the need to adopt, and that is what she did.

To hear her tell it, apparently her son would've been doomed to an early death by being a street child or a child prostitute, and at the time she decided to adopt her daughter, she didn't know whether or not the girl was HIV positive or not.

I'd bet her adoption of children from other countries is a by-product of her work with the UN, not because of some desire to not adopt a child from the US.

13. I agree but just pointing out a valid arguement
and sometimes we need to post the stuff like what I posted in order to be educated when some freeper throws it in our face.

Personally, I think Brad Pitt is a better person because of Angelina Joile because now he is just as involved as she is with global good will. His life with Jennifer Anniston was nothing more than Hollywood red carper flash.

14. Definitely agree. Hollywood is escapist and I've been part of that
world for years -- entertaining, educating, and talking with thousands of people.

Brad Pitt is maturing and Angelina is a very interesting young woman. Besides her beauty, there is something caring and compassionate.

May they both have a sweet and long life together.

As far as Jennifer Anniston, hey -- my ex-husband slept with someone else six weeks after we were married. I didn't find out until a bit later and we still stuck it out until he told me he didn't love me any more and moved out.

He went on to marry a lovely woman, someone else who was better suited to him and I married someone who could cope with me and my crazies. You have to move on when these things occur. I hate to see people divorce and have been through two of them already. I don't plan a third one. They're very rough.

21. It is very difficult to find adoptable babies in the US
There are plenty of older kids who need homes and there are plenty of handicapped kids who do too. But healthy newborns of any color are much harder to find and there's plenty of competition for the ones that you can find. Now a days the birth mother can pick and choose the family they want their baby to end up with. Which is all good, but many people feel they have no choice but to go overseas if they want a child.

This may or may not apply to someone like Angelina but for the rest of us, that's the way it is.

Remember, every Snowflake kid helps the GDP.

It's all about population growth for White Snowflakes.

Just pointing out the obvious - snowflake babies = new avenue for finding white babies for white folks who will settle for nothing less

12. I agree.
Wealthy white parents who choose children who look just like them, and whose donor parents can be screened for desirable traits.

Sickening, really.

15. the fact that the vast majority of 'embryos' are white to begin with,
coupled with the fact that most people who could afford even the IVF procedure to use 'donated' embryos would have to have more money than I'll ever have - gives you your answer.
And the sad part about IVF (to me) and surrogate mothers, OR fathers is that people are so anxious to have children that have their dna- or at least part of their dna while we have a brazillion kids, living in foster care, yearning for forever families.

I'm a birth, and adoptive mother- I love my children with the exact same intensity, and see 'nurturing' family resemblences - which in many ways trump the 'physical' ones.-

Your observation is sad reality-

They are missing out on some awesome children.

peace,
blu

16. And the process of in-vitro fertilization itself
causes the destruction of dozens of viable blastocysts for every baby that is brought to full term.

Because it's a passive-aggressive form of racism?

18. Well, they are "snowflakes"
I asked a similar question yesterday then remarked that the name "snowflake" was pretty descriptive of the kids themselves.

19.  I think this may be a fake group
started by the gop party to tug at heart strings. I have no proof but that's what it sounds like. How old are these kids any way? And why haven't we heard of them before President Bush.

we know they had a team of PR experts sit around a table brainstorming until they came up with the name 'snowflake babies'

to income. As you are all well aware, only WASPs make the requisite salaries to conduct this kind of "science" for their own purposes. :sarcasm:

24. Because it costs a fortune to have a baby that way
and only wealthy people can do that, or those who will dig themselves into debt to do it.

What color are the majority of wealthy people? White.

Now I have a close friend who could not have a child, wanted a child....had even gone for the injections and stopped short of IVF because it cost way way too much money and as she said to me..."I had to choose between spending the money I had on buying our first house or having a baby and without a house to raise that baby...and no security...that would be foolish"...

IVF fails a lot...and that was why she made a decision not to try...each try is around $10,000 and if it doesn't take...you don't get your money back.
