8. the supposed "terrists"
buy cigs where they are cheaper and then sell them in locations where cigs cost more.

the resulting profit is used to feed the worldwide terrist octopus that threatens to destroy the american way of life, kittens, ice cream, and fourth of july parades at any second.

12. Damn, I guess that means that all those Americans
Going across the Canadian border to sell a few cartons of cheap US cigs really work for Hezbollah:eyes:

It continues to amaze me the level the MSM stoops to in order to whip up the sheeple into a frenzy. I wonder when this sort of behaviour starts to take over a journalist? I see them here at the University when they are in J-school, they're nice, normal, bright kids. Even after they grad, they're bright, idealistic kids who want to change the world. Then they get sucked into the MSM, and something horrible happens, and before you know it they're spewing propaganda and making excuses for any atrocity. Must be something in the air or water:shrug:

15. that has been a problem here in Ky. We have a low
tax on cigarettes. Smugglers buy them by the truckload and sell them in other states with higher taxes. If a retailer can save 25 cents a pack, that adds up.

9. Cigarette smuggling
Edited on Thu Jul-20-06 09:01 AM by alcibiades_mystery
Tax on cigarettes in North Carolina: Low
Tax on cigarettes in New York: High

Buy 1500 cartons in North Carolina, smuggle to New York, sell at $1 less than prevailing New York rate = pocket the difference without paying the tax. Supposedly, this is one of the ways Hezbollah raises cash in the US.

Have I ever paid $1 less than the prevailing rate in NYC, and noticed a NC tax stamp on the underside of the pack? Of course. ;-) Cigarette smokers imperative: Know your fucking bodegas and tobacco shops!
