FLASHBACK: Gingrich Said Democrats Think They Run The Plantation

Prodded by the right-wing, the media is already swarming around Sen. Hillary Clinton for saying the House of Representatives has been run like a plantationIt has been run in a way so that nobody with a contrary view has had a chance to present legislation, to make an argument, to be heard. MSNBC has already launched a poll: Was Clintons plantation comparison too harsh?

How long before the media mentions that Newt Gingrich, just before becoming Speaker of the House, made the same comparison in 1994:

I clearly fascinate them, Gingrich said of the Democrats. Im much more intense, much more persistent, much more willing to take risks to get it done. Since they think it is their job to run the plantation, it shocks them that Im actually willing to lead the slave rebellion.

11. Gore is so right!
The freaking Attorney General is making statements in defense of The Bush Regime! What does that tell you? Gonzales should lose his job over this! Seriously! He is as bad as his crony daddy, GWB! We cannot stand for this!

Clinton Slams Bush, White House in Harlem

NEW YORK -- Sen. Hillary Clinton on Monday blasted the Bush administration as "one of the worst" in U.S. history and compared the Republican-controlled House of Representatives to a plantation where dissenting voices are squelched.

Speaking during a Martin Luther King Jr. Day event, Clinton also offered an apology to a group of Hurricane Katrina survivors "on behalf of a government that left you behind, that turned its back on you." Her remarks were met with thunderous applause by a mostly black audience at the Canaan Baptist Church of Christ in Harlem.

The House "has been run like a plantation, and you know what I'm talking about," said Clinton, D-N.Y. "It has been run in a way so that nobody with a contrary view has had a chance to present legislation, to make an argument, to be heard."

"We have a culture of corruption, we have cronyism, we have incompetence," she said. "I predict to you that this administration will go down in history as one of the worst that has ever governed our country."

18. THE worst, I'd say
Support Hill or not, and I really don't care if you do or not, it's good to hear many voices on the same subject. I hope Hill and Al's fellow Democrats listen and learn. People will like you for telling them the truth!

thread title (1-17-06 GD): ***COMPILATION*** of links & DU threads on the historic 1/16 GORE SPEECH

I emailed him Gore's rebuttal and links to articles detailing Gonzales' lies - and I bet I wasn't the only one. All hail Keith! An ex-sportscaster (KO) and a comedian (Jon Stewart) are the gutsiest truth-tellers left in the great TV wasteland.

I'll post the transcript of this segment of his show when it is put up sometime tomorrow afternoon.
