Has anyone heard anything from Pat Buchanan
for awhile? I think it was a bit jarring for many of us to see ourselves actually agreeing with him on the Iraqi war, but I haven't heard much from him lately.

5. The rapture is close
he is preparing the flock and fighting for his chosen place in heaven. But on the other hand we were supposed to check on those who had mysteriously disappeared and go figure that they were now 'rapturing'. This might be where Pat is now.

10. Now that raises a question. If the rapture is so imminent,
Edited on Mon Jul-17-06 02:31 PM by tanyev
then why would anyone who believes in it care about illegal immigrants coming in to the US? Hmmm....

19. Good point.
Answer: Most people who are right-wing evangelicals have no problem trucking in illegal immigrants as low-wage indentured servants because they think it won't matter.

Most conservatives who care about the issue are paleos like Buchanan.

Last but not least, you have the Dominionists, in places like northern Idaho, who want to "purify" the country before the end times can begin. They think Jesus will set up a 1000 year dictatorship based on Mosaic law.

2. Even though he is a little racist and somewhat of a womanizer I like him
Not a lot but enough that I don't dislike him.

I like him because he is a REAL republican and not a neocon. I like him because he is upset about what Bush did to the Republican party. I like him because say what you like, its hard to call him stupid. He is intelligent but on the other side.

He isn't perfect though, he did call african-americans, "afro-americans".

3. Uh yeah, he's been pounding treating Russia with minimal respect
Just find his articles. He was quoted here yesterday saying on TV it was unchristian for Israel to be bombing in the way it's been bombing (killing civvies left and right).
