Iran-made missile hit the Israeli ship
Missile, not drone, hit Israeli warship 24 minutes ago

JERUSALEM - A missile fired by Hezbollah, not an unmanned drone laden with explosives, damaged an Israeli warship off Lebanon, the army said Saturday.

The attack late Friday alarmed Israel because initial information indicated the guerrillas had used a drone for the first time to attack Israeli forces.

But the army's investigation showed that Hezbollah had fired an Iranian-made missile at the vessel from the shores of Lebanon, said Brig. Gen. Ido Nehushtan.

"We can confirm that it was hit by an Iranian-made missile launched by Hezbollah. We see this as very profound fingerprint of Iranian involvement in Hezbollah," Nehushtan said in an interview with The Associated Press.

2. Rocketic symmetry
In symmetrical strikes, remote about the place,
A trajectory likes boundless human race,
prison riot fights, ample loss of face,
recent death invites, a nuclear disgrace.

7. The difference it makes
is that it indicates that the side that was believed to have lesser ability to strike at greater distances because of limited weapon types, actually has weapons that will allow it to do greater damage at a longer distance than Israel anticipated.

I say that not taking sides: I think both sides share in the blame, to the extent that their "leaders" are violent people. But the majority of the citizens, even if they are angry and filled with hatred for their "enemy," are being betrayed by their "leaders." It breaks my heart to see the little children from both sides, being exposed to the mental and moral illness of these "leaders."

Likewise, I share the concern that the Bush administration is attempting to arouse passions in this country, by saying "Iranian-made" weapons, in what appears to be a part of the "perception management" they think is required to make the US public accept the growing violence as necessary. Your point in particular is important, especially in light of the fact that the administration in Washington is made up of individuals who absolutely sold and traded weapons to Iran for decades.

22. They must have had only one. Otherwise, they would have
taken out the entire Israeli fleet, a move that would have had devastating effects on the war.

6. We now see the motivation behind Israel's obscene over-reaction.
These abominable attacks by Israel are part of the bush/neocon sales pitch for the war against Iran, long intended by bush, Inc..

I have been unable to believe that the Israeli leaders could generate this abomination on their own. But this allegation of Iranian involvement (by an Israeli functionary with no evidence, of course) is a perfect fit to the mold of the bush modus operandi.

The failure of bush, et al. to support a cease fire in Lebanon and the veto of the UN resolution condemning Israel are part of the program: bush, Inc. needs to keep the fighting going to generate a pretense for war with Iran.

The next chess piece to move will be the bombing of Syria by the IDF (to which a pretext might already be in the works - see this thread - a missile hit Tiberias, which is only 20 miles from Syria), which will draw Iran into this. Then all hell breaks loose. :(

8. I found it hard to believe a drone had not been shot down before
it hit. Start figuring out how to walk to work, this is going to lead to the strike on Iran * has been wishing for.

12. All of the Israeli missile ships have Phalanx systems that would've...
...knocked just about any drone out of the sky. I found it a bit unbelievable that a drone hit the ship, also.

16. only muslim suicide carrier pigeons, however.
the christian and jewish suicide pigeons would remain untouched.

Now, that is high tech.

Yes, this is a planned invasion and escalation done by agreement between Israel and the US to invade iran. This is all pretext, this is all a scam. This is the October surprise from Rove in the making.

Edited on Sat Jul-15-06 08:51 AM by Toots
So they now know for certain that Osama was the person that attacked that ship with Iranian missiles and Iraqi Insurgent assistance.
