NPR: Bush will lecture Putin about lack of democracy....
in Russia. I wonder if he will also mention rigged elections as well.

4. Good point.
It's kind of difficult to picture Putin putting up with anything Dubya says, especially anything about "democracy."

Putin is not a likeable man, at least from his public image. There's no play in him, really. Forget about the bellykiss the other day. I mean in the overall. He's a bit of a stiff. As rigid as Brezshnev only more eel-like and contemporary.

But he's smart. Dubya isn't smart. What kind of a conversation can they have? I have a strong hunch Dubya is not going to bring up Russian composers as a topic. I don't see him telling his pal Vlad how much he admires Rachmaninoff's Second Piano Concerto. "Especially the Lugansky recording... the technical mastery on the arpeggio figures... astonishing stuff, Vlad. Just Astonishing."

May Putin will be accommodating and throw a pig roast.

9. Putin plays chess, while Bush plays checkers
They are not even in the same league. We need an intelligent leader to deal with Putin, who is smart, but not too impressed with democracy.

10. Checkers? I thought it was Tiddly Winks.
Even checkers is beyond Bush's intellectual grasp.

11. Just about any of our Democratic contenders would fill the bill of a
highly intelligent soul who could at least talk to Putin.

Dubya's just not up to par on a world stage.

6. Not a day goes by without this idiot embarrassing the country.
It's as if he were walking around without any pants on and was totally oblivious to it. Will someone please clue him in with a whisper in his ear or send him a memo.

George your ass is showing!

8. What are the odds that Putin ends up putting Bush in a Judo lock?
I mean literally -- metaphorically, we're already in one...
