They can’t slither 950 miles

RICH SUGG | THE KANSAS CITY STAR

This snake is one of two taipans that will be traveling by air today from Kansas City to Washington, D.C.
She’s slender and agile with hints of copper tones, and she’s ready for her close-up.

But before her debut on cable TV’s National Geographic Channel, she has to travel to Washington, D.C., where they will start filming her this week.

She’ll make the trip wrapped into a snug box placed inside an oversized pillowcase and sealed in a bigger wooden box. There’s no way she can get out.

She is a taipan — one of the world’s deadliest snakes.

Yes, snakes really do fly on planes. But unlike this summer’s movie “Snakes on A Plane,” in which 400 venomous snakes roam free and create chaos in the air, these reptiles are securely locked away.

1. Maybe if these two stories were combined...
...we could kill two mice with one snake. Or something like that....

(KSDK) - It's the busy summer travel season and a lot of families have vacations planned. But before you fly, you should see the hidden camera video obtained by NewsChannel 5's I-Team.

The video was shot by a long-time employee at the overhaul base at Kansas City International Airport. The whistleblower did not want to be identified but did want to expose a hidden secret onboard a Boeing 767 passenger plane.

The whistle blower said, "We had to take the chairs off and that's when everybody saw mice running around on the floor and one ran down one of the mechanic's arm."

2. The problem with horror movies
is they use even less logic than shrub. If snakes got loose on a jet all they really have to do is lower cabin pressure and temperature.

3. That's nice. Maybe Haliburton could help get rid of the mice?

7. she was sleeping on the plane and awoke screaming w/a huge
nasty bite/bruise, high fever/shaking-luckily they were near arrival and a doctor on the flight had some anti-inflams...she was rushed to the hospital after landing. She was in the hospital for about 12-14 days and then released with a full load of antibiotics, et al.
It took her months to feel better and fully recover.
