"I agree with many of George Bush's policies. But..."
He emphasized, "I am not a left-wing liberal. I agree with many of George Bush's policies." But he added, "I don't think the Constitution has to be gutted to achieve our objectives" in the war on terrorism. "I felt it was my duty as an American to take a stand for the constitutional rights guaranteed to all Americans."

Thus spoke American filmmaker Cyrus Kar, who is suing the US government -- and Donald Rumsfeld in particular -- after he was imprisoned in Iraq, without charge or access to council, for 55 days.

If only all of Bush's supporters could be made to experience the business end of his retrograde policies, perhaps we could turn a few from the dark side.

1. How could Kar still agree with many of Bush's policies...
after his ordeal. He states he is not a "left-wing liberal" yet he didn't mind using the organization (ACLU), many conservatives consider "left-wing liberal", to help him. His statements kind of make me angry.

3. Too bad Kar didn't spend more time in jail.
Maybe he'd have had time on his hands to review Bush's policies. What an ass.
