I got to see - and hear - Al Gore last night!
Wow, what a treat! It was a special showing of "An Inconvenient Truth" that concluded with a live question and answer session with Al Gore..in person!
Of course, the movie was excellent with lots of great, easy to understand information (but it would still be over the shrub's head!)...but what struck me most during the film was Gore's passion. I thought to myself, more than once, what would it be like to have a President who really cares..about anything!!
In the live session, it was just amazing to see how easily Gore spoke and connected with the audience. No pretension, no canned phrases...amazing!

I really wonder how different our world would be if the Supreme Court hadn't crowned king bush.

2. Wednesday my neighbor and I went to see an Inconvenient Truth
we both came away feeling like we had been cheated personally in the election of '00. Mr Gore is the kind of man we so need at the helm of this fast sinking, listing ship.

11. The only small crumb I can take away from that experience

Is that America might need to experience the full force of GOP corruption before they will throw them out for good...

Gore SHOULD have been President. It is a tragedy not just for America, but for the entire globe that he was not.

I hope people have woke up and we can begin the work of dismantling the criminal GOP (and throw out all the dinos who are in alliance with them).

15. I am with you. If we win this war on our liberties and our Constitution
I believe we will be making changes that will make it much harder for someone in the future to do this to us ever again. In the end we as a country will be much stronger for it, IF...

3. Wow, how lucky are you
What was the crowd's reaction to him? I too, would love to have a President with a passion for anything.

I am sure he was able to speak easily on the subject. When I first read the book, "Earth in the Balance" back in the early '90's, it read like a text book. It was not easy reading, but he knew what he was talking about way back then.

I am happy for you that you got see the real deal.

5. The crowd was in awe!
But at the same time you could just feel how comfortable he was...which almost made it feel like sitting in your living foom having a discussion.

8. Take someone with you.
By that, I mean take someone who may not think global warming is real (a nutty repuke). I think one of the ways we can all make a difference is to bring at least one person to see "An Inconvenient Truth" who isn't already a believer. This will change their mind.

7. It is one of the greatest tragedies i think
That Gore was elected and did not serve as president. And we will always wonder how different things could have been had he rightfully served.

9. I agree!
Although someone I was with said maybe by "losing" he's devoted so much time to the cause of global warming that this is where he's really making a difference..at least on this issue.

That may be true..but I would much rather have had him take his rightful place in the white house in 2000.

12. I just saw Inconvenient Truth--WOW! I've been a Gore fan since "Earth
in the Balance." Gore has always been an environmentalist and he's great. I just wish he were our president instead of the selected Oil Chimp we now have.
