Ad compares Gov. Granholm, Bill Clinton and others Democrats to Hitler
Take a look at this Breaking News from the Detroit Free Press about a despicable newspaper ad appearing in the Michigan Chronicle this week.

The newspaper ad features the story of Jesse Owens, an African American and gold medal winner at the 1936 Munich Olympics who became a supporter of the Republican candidate for president that year. The ad features photographs of Hitler, Owens and prominent Democrats like former Presidents Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton."

Adolph Mongo, a Detroit-based political consultant and critic of Granholm, supported the message of the ad Thursday, which he said is about the lack of respect black voters receive from Democrats.

Nobody is saying that Granholm and Hitler are the same person; its just telling a story, he said.

The ad, paid for by a PAC run by Mongos stepdaughter and employee Nataki Harbin, urges black voters to Say No to Governor Granholm in November.

Mongo said it does not mean, however, that blacks should say yes to Republican Dick DeVos.

DeVos campaign manager Greg McNeilly said this morning there is no connection between Mongo or the PAC which paid for it and the DeVos campaign.

Mr. Mongo seems like a very logical and intelligent man, especially given his ties to Detroit's mayor, Kwame Kilpatrick. I'm sure if Jesse Owens were alive today he would support George W., Dick DeVos and every other compassionate conservative republican. Give me a break, is this the direction the MI Governor's race is taking? Governor Granholm already has enough false ads and hot air to deal with coming from the DeVos campaign.

In addition, apparently this proves that Godwin's Law applies to the print media as well.

4. The Michigan Chronicle is a conservative black paper
They publish some pretty outrageous things at times. In don't know many black people who read it, though.

8. Black conservative? What part of our "heritage" do they want to conserve?
Segregation? Bans on interracial marriage? Racism? Lynchings? Slavery?

Because white conservatives seem to want to bring all of it back

2. No connection
between Granholm and Hitler. Right. Like there was no connection between 9/11 and Iraq but BushCo mangaged to get people to believe it by mentioning them together every chance he got.

Of course there is no link. But that is not what people see and this type of negative advertizing works or they would not do it.

So this must be the new meme. Dems have a lack of respect for Black voters. How exactly? Dems come out on the plus side on issues that concern Black voters - education, health care, civil rights, etc. Where do the Republicans stand on those issues? Seems to me the Republicans ignore Black voters along with the rest of the citizens who are not wealthy.

6. I agree . . .
that even though there is no link, this clearly benefits DeVos and I'm sure they aren't shedding any tears over it. I truly hope that nobody is ignorant enough to even remotely buy into this, although that may be an optimistic hope.

This will save Dick DeVos some advertising money so he can channel more funds into the estate tax repeal campaign, since the DeVos family is one of 18 American families behind the "death tax" repeal movement.

3. Another thing to add to my LTTE.
Sheesh. This race is getting sick.

DeVos wants to be Bush--he even owns www.devosforpresident.com already. He wants to buy our governorship and then use that as a springboard for the presidency. This is a man who outsources every job, including those fancy ads (done in Maryland, not Michigan, to the tune of millions of dollars), and want to pay zero taxes. He wants to eliminate the Single Business Tax but not replace it with anything--and our state budget is already in debt and a shambles with not enough money coming in.

His wife's brother started Blackwater, and she's one crazy b****. She ran Bush's re-election campaign and said many crazy things. They've got her hidden now, as she's nowhere to be seen or heard in the media these days. I think they finally figured out that she's a serious liability (I mean, would a normal guy marry someone that irrational and stay married?) and are keeping her hidden for good reason. Granholm doesn't have to hide her husband--he is one cool, calm, collected guy, and he's been wonderful as First Gentleman.

Now they're trying to tie Granholm to Hitler? They picked the wrong one in the race. She's not the head of an international cult-like pyramid scheme that recently outsourced its manufacturing to China.

11. I completely agree
DeVos thinks he can buy our votes for governor (he has already spent $7million on TV ads) and then President? I dont think so. The constiuents of Michigan are going to see right through this clown. Just like his extensive 64 page plan to turn around Michigan however, it had no substance, just a bunch of Bush economics. Granholm will pull out on top, she has a substantial platform and isnt looking to PACs to try and ruin her opponent.

14. I worry that she hasn't really started yet.
DeVos hasn't even won his primary yet and is attacking her directly. She needs to get out there more and fight what he's saying. That's what I think, anyway.

to remove the word fascism from Hitler? Cause they really want to label that war "LIBERAL". WWII was all Wilson's fault don't ya know.

17. Devos to Detroit: just stay home on Election Day
You don't have to "say yes" to Dick Devos. Just don't say anything at all.

Kwame Kilpatrick better hit the stump for Granholm...that is if he likes actually being in charge of the city he was elected to run.

19. Then fight back against Karl Rove politics.
This is a smear campaign being run against the Governor and the MDP, being paid for by Dick DeVos and run by a real scummy political consultant named Adolph Mongo.

The disclaimer on the ad is Voice the Vote. The treasurer is a girl named Nataki Harbin, who is Adolph's step-daughter, her sister lives with Mongo.

Want to help the Governor? Call him at his house and tell him or whoever answers to stop smearing the Governor. His home number is 313-392-0162. Cal the Voice the Vote Treasurer Nataki Harbin and ask her how much she is selling her people out for. Her home number is 313-341-3047. She can be e-mailed at nharbin@pma-a2.com .

Again, the home numbers are:

Adolph Mongo 313-392-0162
Nataki Harbin 313-341-3047 email: Nharbin@PMA-A2.com

TELL THEM WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF THE KARL ROVE POLITICS.
