8. Hard to find the words, isn't it? The words are never enough.
You and I, we need to go easy on this and not let it get to us too much.

There are things we can change, and things we can't.

But know that I understand. Yes?

2. He plays every day. We just don't always get to see it.
He rides his bike, catches naps, attends fundraisers, etc., while soldiers are buried every week. His behavior in the face of lives he has destroyed is grotesque.

9. "Grotesque." Thank you. It's the perfect word. Nero fiddling while
Rome burned. Indeed.

16. Elvis might not
mind so much.

Nixon got a surprise visit from Elvis who gave Nixon a note of admiration (and a request to work as a "Federal Agent at Large")
A picture and the text of the note are here

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=50...
Here are parts of the note:

First, I would like to introduce myself. I am Elvis Presley and admire you and have great respect for your office. I talked to Vice President Agnew in Palm Springs three weeks ago and expressed my concern for our country. The drug culture, the hippie elements, the SDS, Black Panthers, etc. do NOT consider me as their enemy or as they call it The Establishment. I call it America and I love it. Sir, I can and will be of any service that I can to help The Country out. I have no concern or Motives other than helping the country out.

So I wish not to be given a title or an appointed position. I can and will do more good if I were made a Federal Agent at Large and I will help out by doing it my way through my communications with people of all ages.
<snip>
I will be here for as long as it takes to get the credentials of a Federal Agent. I have done an in-depth study of drug abuse and Communist brainwashing techniques and I am right in the middle of the whole thing where I can and will do the most good.
<snip>

P. S. I believe that you, Sir, were one of the Top Ten Outstanding Men of America also.

Now I'm not saying he was sober, but it could be Elvis would be quite glad to welcome these men. Who cares if thet are there.

The loss of so many is heartbreaking and a funeral is a gathering of grief...and the grief goes on.

The juxtaposition of the two events is hard to see but the deaths and funerals would be no less sad if bush never did recreational things, if he sat in his office or knelt in a church...what he's doing hardly matters. He can't undo the death and doesn't care to stop them.

He should be at Graceland or a ball park or cutting brush or riding bikes or whatever the hell he wants to do.

He should never have been in the White House (except to visit his dad back when). That is the disgrace. That is why we have those funerals.

out in the public eye. These really do get people's attention.

10. I've been thinking about this today
and we obviously know what fucktard is about, but I was wondering what the Japanese people think of their great leader. My image of the Japanese culture informs me that they are very concerned about image and propriety. Knowing the situation, why would their leader put himself in this situation. I wonder if we can access some comments from Japan.

19. The Japanese are also crazy for Elvis
I don't begrudge the Japanese prime minister for going to Graceland. I seriously doubt he came all the way to America on the Japanese people's yen just to go to Graceland. Shrub, OTOH, would do that.

What I begrudge is Dear Leader feeling that he just HAD to rush to Memphis to go with him. I think Koizumi could make it through Graceland without having to be escorted by Little Lord Pissypants.

I also begrudge the fact that they're going to close down Fayetteville on Tuesday so Shrub can spend Independence Day with the 82nd Airborne.

Hmmm...82nd Airborne...maybe, just maybe, we can manifest Shrub for a jump and, once he's on the plane, lock the door and fly it to Iraq.
