Is the House decision to end the ban on offshore drilling a good idea?

54% Yes. Energy independence needs to be a focus for America's future. This is a baby step toward real autonomy, and control over our energy future.

46% No. More drilling begins the process of more spoilage of our natural resources. We shouldn't sacrifice our environment in order to get the power we need.

Please help to keep this kicked and at the top, so that we can get as many votes as possible?

BTW, I'm beginning to wonder if November will EVER come!

8. 'Energy independence'...never going to happen.

The only way the US will EVER be 'energy independent' is if most Americans undertake a radical alteration in lifestyle. But since most Americans are basically selfish, spoiled children who think they have some divine right to live as they do, that's NOT going to happen. Neither ANWR nor drilling the entire continental shelf for oil are going to change that.
