I don't get this "View" feud. I really don't
Edited on Thu Jun-29-06 12:11 PM by CatWoman
It was on ALL the news shows last night.

Now this:

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/v-echo/story/430948p-363277c.html (I found this story on the Huffington Post)

Is this what America has truly become?

People are pawning personal belongings in order to fill their gas tanks, yet this bullshit is "news worthy" to the point that it gets constant air time?

I don't get it

3. I don't either, CW
It's a terrible excuse for a show anyway.

Who the fuck cares of one of the hostesses doesn't work there anymore and they replace her with someone else? Very inconsequential.

I think shows like The View have outlived their usefulness. Once upon a time it was unique and special to see women discussing things openly on TV. Now, I think it's more important that you actually have something meaningful to say if you're going to be on TV. The ladies on TV don't. By that rate, Lisa Ling has done the best by herself, hosting National Geographic shows.

5. It's sad, isn't it?
Have you ever watched the morning "news" shows? They are five minutes of news and the rest of the time, it's entertainment news and other assorted crapola.

10. It's a catfight. Come on, folks.
Where are your priorities? If the media could get Star and the rest of those ladies in teeshirts in the mud, they would.

12. Good God...who cares?
A mere diversion: focus on crap while everything important is going on behind closed doors. "Out of sight.....out of mind."

13. Give them circus!
When the people become restless leaders give them a circus to get their attention and their minds off of their misery lest they revolt and throw the leaders out.

15. How terrible is being engaged in the catfight, when overwhelming
frustration is the other option? Watching and following what is happening to our country because of what is happening in Washington (from both sides of the aisles), is bringing my spirts down more and more each day.

17. More rubbish news about yet more rubbish news
Edited on Thu Jun-29-06 01:33 PM by longship
It's like a self-fulfilling prophecy. The news media creates news out of the news media. Just self-important know-nothings talking endlessly about more self-important know-nothings.

I never even heard of Star Jones before yesterday.

Today's pop culture and the fixation on pop culture sucks.

None of this is important or has any significance.

19. I've never watched it either.
Unless I was hit over the head (by K.O. no less), I wouldn't have even known who Star Jones was.

And, maybe (positively) I wasn't paying much attention to BaBaWa, but were her panties seemed to be in a twist over Jones surprising her on air with her quitting/firing? Seems to me that she could have shown her professionalism and just wished SJ well, instead of making a mountain out of a molehill.
