Social versus Corporate Welfare information, please?
I'm surrounded by repukes and constantly hear whining about "free handouts." Blah, blah, blah. I respond with my disgust at corporate handouts.

Can anyone direct me to hard facts, or a lovely summary, about $$ spent on the two? I'm sure there are funds dispersed to those not so needy on both sides (hell, I'd say MOST monies given to corporations are unnecessary - given to multi-billion dollar businesses rather than more deserving small businesses), but I can't imagine social program funds even compare to the corporate subsidies, especially with this crew.

Any help with specifics, please? Thank you!!!

1. I looked that up years ago. At that time social far outweighed corp.
However, today - if you count those juicy military contracts - I'm betting it's the other way. I'm sure somewhere out on the internet is that info.

2. I know there are programs that award tax cuts
to companies that outsource jobs, but I don't have the statute numbers etc.

The Supreme Court's recent ruling on eminent domain (that "public good" includes broadening the tax base of a community by forcing a homeowner to give up their land so another private concern can open up a business) is a HUGE advantage to the well heeled and connected.

3. I bet most of these Repukes are Christians, right?
The way I look at it is, who is most deserving of help, children or corporations? There is simply no excuse for a rich (or once rich) country like ours to have sick and starving children.

No excuse.

And if they are real Christians they would agree. But then, in my experience, they generally don't.

4. Google "corporate welfare."
You'll find a whole lot of links.
