Karl Rove came to Iowa to raise money for the campaign of 1st District congressional candidate Mike Whalen. Boy oh boy, is anyone else’s attention caught?
So Karl Rove, Bush’s long time buddy and advisor, as of June 16 was not actually indicted for the Valerie Plame mess. Good for him. Are there really people out there who honestly believe that this man was not involved?
Karl Rove is a man who has been soaked in scandal and questionable ethics for as long as his name has been known to the public. Just for a few examples, he was involved with the government’s energy policy meetings while holding hundreds of thousands of dollars in energy company stock (including Enron). Former Nixon White House Counsel John Dean stated that “Watergate prosecutors were interested in Rove’s activities in 1972, but because they had bigger fish to fry they did not aggressively investigate him.” There’s too many more examples to even begin to get into here. He just always manages to slip under the radar and use his connections to get away with it. Nice for him!
We had a measly 10 percent turnout for the primaries (shame!). Who gets the vote? Another wealthy Republican who mimics the narrow views of the Bush administration and has a “gentleman” named Rove, with the virtues of a lucky criminal, backing him up.
You can tell a lot about a person by the company he keeps. That says it all.....

WATERLOO, Iowa — While Karl Rove was en route to talk at a campaign fundraiser for Republican congressional candidate Mike Whalen of
Bettendorf, about three dozen protesters stood with signs showing what they think of President Bush’s deputy chief of staff:
“Rove fiddles while working families burn.”
“Health care is a right, not a privilege.”
“Karl Rove, congratulations on not getting indicted!” Signed, “Concerned Iowans.”
