Hosting Hardball, David Gregory moderates a little debate between Melanie Morgan (talk show host) and Mark Green (New Democracy Project). Mark did an excellent job avoiding the common pitfalls the Left normally falls victim to. Gregory set the tone in this exchange with Melanie Morgan.

David Gregory: Melanie is she an authentic voice. Is Cindy Sheehans voice larger than her own tragic situation, losing her son.

Melanie Morgan: I think that she is not an authentic voice. The reason why is because Cindy Sheehan really is a media creation, and I say that because she didn't float from the bottom up as Mr. Green just referred a moment ago she came from the top down. she's been hooked up with the people form MoveOn.org and Michael Moore who created Farenheit 9-11 a movie filled with propaganda , and inaccuracies. She's part of the anti-Bush movement in this country, and please don't get me wrong because I'm not a Bush supporter in terms of being a raw raw cheerleader. She's part of an organized movement to undermine the authenticity of the president of the United States, the commander in chief.

I've seen at least two or three interviews today where you have some rightwing nut job going crazy on the air, demanding to lock up journalists for DECADES if they report on stuff like this, or the NSA debacle, etc. That's pretty scary.

This administration shows no interest whatsoever in our Constitution, and you have a bunch of extremist lunatics backing them up by demanding that any journalist that exposes what they are doing to be JAILED. This is the type of shit you used to read about happening in other shadowy countries -- not here in America.

These bastards need to be stopped ASAP. They've gone waaaaaaay too far already, but this is almost too hard to believe.

He used to say that the only difference between the US and Germany pre WWII was that the Germans were more intellectual, more cultured, better read, and more capable. Thus could Americans fall for the idiocy that is this new fascism here in the United States. In my house, Mein Kampf was required reading and learning of the ascent of totalitarianism of whatever stripe was absolutely mandatory.

He said it was only a matter of time - the decision to change from a titular democracy to an obviously repressive society required only two things. Panic and stupidity.
