Why Russ Feingold?
Because he's fighting for us!

1. Voted against the Patriot Act to protect our civil liberties
2. Returns his pay raise to the Treasury every year
3. Votes against unfair trade agreements (NAFTA, GATT, etc...)
4. Demands the citizens of the US have the same quality healthcare as he does
5. Has held open listening sessions in every county in Wisconsin for 12 years
6. He has a broad appeal and has received many votes from both parties
7. He has one of the best environmental records in the Senate
8. A strong commitment to our Veterans with a record to prove it
9. Works to cut wasteful spending and has received many endorsements to show it
10. He supports a woman's right to choose
11. He demands fairness in campaigning and fights to block 'corporate bribes'
12. He has consistently worked to end the death penalty
13. Works to helps Police Departments and was honored by the Nation Association of Police Organizations as the Senator of the year.
14. He opposed No Child Left Behind
15. Worked with students to increase Pell Grants
16. Voted against the Iraq War Resolution and in favor of funding to support our troops.
17. He opposes the appointment of extremist judges
18. He supports a senate that performs its duties in providing a check to the presidency, as desired by the founding fathers

His ethnicity. Sorry, I don't believe a Jew can get nominated, let alone elected.

Russ would have an excellent chance of guaranteeing the upper midwest and I fail to see how the "Jewish factor" would be a liability in Florida.

Are you thinking Dems have a chance at winning red states like Missouri or Tennessee if they nominate a white christian male again? The 2000 and 2004 scenario with a few more states or Ohio would have the whole thing sewed up without selling ourselves completely out in the name of appeasing middle(bigoted) Amerika.

Feingold be Jewish will no effect. The people that wouldn't vote for him because he is Jewish would have voted for him anyway.

The biggest question mark for Feingold is him being divorced twice.

All of that won't matter a bit if Condi is the Republican nominee.

1. He's a visionary.

Contributed more than anybody on the planet in the fight against climate change (Kyoto was his work). Also contributed more than anybody on the planet in developing the Internet (Darpanet funding and congressional hearings).

2. He's right on national security consistently.

Opposed Viet Nam, voted for Gulf War I, strong voice for US intervention in Balkans to stop genocide of muslims, supported invading Afghanistan, opposed invasion of Iraq (pointing out that BushCo was politicizing the IWR). He is just what the Dems need-- somebody who is respected worldwide because he is on the correct side on these issues.

3. He's a winner.

Gore has never been beaten in a general election. He has the gravitas to take on McCain or any other GOP nominee in 2008 and win. I can almost hear him say at the debate "Are you better off than you were eight years ago? Is America better off?"

25. Having heard Wes Clark speak last Saturday, I had to go with him....

He's heads above the crowd. While I like most of those listed, and will vote for the nominee, my heart is with Clark, just like in 2004.
