At www.icasualties.org It seems like the Republicans use and then abuse troops. How infuriating. Then, they claim to support the troops. To those who are Christian, they believe in a judgment day. W proclaims to be Christian. How do they think they will be judged for use and abuse of our troops and innocent Iraqis?

They can only blame others so much, then it's them, their policies, and their rhetoric.

1.  The GOP praises the heroism of the troops and then refuses to fund
veteran's programs.

"We're spending more on vets now than ever before" says Bushco.

What they don't tell us : "There is way much more need out there and we're not meeting the needs of our vets".

2. W is great at saying he's spending more on vets
without acknowledging he's the one who committed them to an insane war with deaths and maimings at a level not seen since Nam. He increased spending at 6%. The deaths and maimings are building daily to an unprecedented level since Nam. Six percent doesn't cut it and his buds simply don't care.

Murtha has been one of the who fight for our troops. He was one. This administration chose not to fight for their country.

4. It Shows They Never Studied History...
We have "reminders" of the waste of Viet Nam all around us. If they were caring individuals they would see with both eyes open what continual hell those who came back from Viet Nam live with on a daily basis and with that in mind would vow for the same thing NOT to happen to those of this conflict...However if they are selfish and it does not bother them to forget about the troops once they are home history will repeat itself. Many of these young adults went into this war thinking they were doing what's right while others were talked into going on the "trip around the world" or scholarship plan. None planned on having repeated tours of duty and few ever expected to see the violence that many returning home can even start to talk about. They simply cannot mainstream back into society as easy as taking off their uniform and wearing civilian clothes. It may take months or even years for some of them to face the reality of what they have been thru. Society may see the homelessness but they don't see what is at root of it.

I noticed this yesterday. I wonder why the discrepency with icasualites? At any rate the ones claiming to be christians are the exact opposite of Jesus.

<snip>

As of Saturday, June 24, 2006, at least 2,521 members of the U.S. military have died since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count. The figure includes seven military civilians. At least 1,983 died as a result of hostile action, according to the military's numbers.
