What's Americanism?

You hear so much about Anti-Americanism. What the hell is that? You never heard Sovietism, it was always Communism. Iraqism, Chineseism, Venezuelaism, Englandism, Indiaism, these are not words you hear. Is anyone an Americanist? They didn't even say Germanyism in the 30's. Does it creep anyone else out when they use that word? When they use the name of the country, the name of the state, in that context? Am I nuts? Am I thinking too much?

1. What's Americanism? The old Chauvinism, mostly.

My country is better than all others because its mine. My country is not to be criticized because after all and no matter what it does it's still better than all the others.
Unfortunately Chauvinism's roots run a lot deeper than the term's origin with one French General. When you've got nothing, you've always still got Chauvinistic pride in your flag to fall back on to bolster your endangered sense of self-worth.

3. It's Nationalism.

Which unscrupulous rulers have used to get men to shift their natural loyalties from family unto a large, impersonal, destructive, murderous force named the NATION-STATE. And all the Nation-State does is kill for property...
