why do I have only the little box with the red X where my avator is
usually at. is it an everybody problem or just mine.:shrug: suggestions please

I know that syndrome -- WHAT DID ****I**** DO???? --- any time something goes wrong. Follow my advice -- if something gets screwed up, chances are it ain't you! (and even if it is who cares! it's likely fixable -- or else you could look forward to something new anyways!! )

7. When traffic is heavy, the Admins turn off features.
They usually post alerts in the announcements box (on right side of screen) in the Latest view.

IIRC, avatars and sig lines are the first to go.
